Ah, yes. One of the dumber arguments I've heard trying to explain away his popular defeat.

Somehow Californians aren't American citizens all of the sudden. If you removed the arbitrary state line and voted again, she would still win by almost 3 million votes.

And if it was the other way around you'd be squealing right now about how unfair it is and how the deep state as keeping the more popular person out of the White House.

Andy, good morning.

In US presidential elections, there is no such thing as a "popular defeat".

The "competition" is for electoral votes. Since popular votes are not the objective (simply a meaningless "nice to have"), the notion of a "defeat" is nothing but a weak-minded self-denial of sorts.

Consult your grade-school civics book for confirmation.

Yes, there is.

They count the popular vote.

Trump is not a popularly elected President.

But it's cute to see concha try to play semantic games to cover for his incompetence/dishonesty.

And, again, name me one person who was on the ballot who wasn't trying to win more votes than the other candidates.

You can't.

This is an explanation after the fact to cover for his historic popular vote loss for an electoral vote winner.

Soon you'll be telling me that George W. Bush also wasn't trying to get more votes.

concha's attempt to be an intellectual in a sea of right-wing dumbassery is rather sad and pathetic.

Well, this a special kind of stupid.

Thanks, Andy.

Is the this the "official trophy" because somebody adds up the popular vote? 🤡

Meaningless, Andy. But FYI, being adamant about your "dumbassery" doesn't make you right.

Typically a football team would like to have more yardage than their opponent, but that - like the popular vote - is in the end absolutely meaningless.

Continue with your "dumbassery", Andy.

🤣

"Electoral votes"

Nobody has yet gotten enough electoral votes without winning, you know, actual votes.

But when Spotted Eagle can get electoral votes out of nowhere then you know the system is fucked.

But if Spotted Eagle had gotten enough unfaithful electors to win the Presidency, I doubt you'd be making the same argument right now about the special nature of electoral votes.

Votes are not yards.They're points.

They're the actual point of an election.

Popular votes in an American presidential election are actually very much like yards in football, Andy.

They often can be an indicator of the winner, but they are not always so as they are not what finally determines the contest.

No, the intent of an election is to get votes.

Again, nobody enters a Presidential race with the intent of losing the popular vote by millions and stumbling into 270 electoral votes.

It's a conclusion only reached after one has lost the popular vote. Which is what you're doing now.

Your dishonesty is so transparent.

They're always an indicator of popular support which is why every President that hasn't won it has been terrible, unpopular and had difficulty governing.

You may well have been a top adviser on the Hillary campaign.

Why spend any more time in Wisconsin, Michigan... ??? 🤡

LMAO @ Andy

Actually a significant portion of California’s occupants are not American citizens.

And to say he was largely unpopular in the entire country because Hillary won California by 4.3 million votes is an attempt to deceive.

It would be like a vote in all of Europe but someone loses England like that and saying ALL OF EUROPE THINKS THEY ARE UNPOPULAR!!!!

Actually it is a compliment that Trump cleaned up in real America and lost that Anti-American piece of crap state. It shows who really loves the place.

And P.S. popular vote winners don’t select Supreme Court Judges!!!

He was largely unpopular in the entire country because he get only got 46% of the vote in the entire country and has never had an approval rating above that number since then.
