Inflated numbers for florida IMO.

IMG factor?

having good players in your state is only 1 part of what makes for good HS football.

Florida could have down year in the draft for their standards and it would not change my opinion of quality of HS football being played.  Its outstanding!

Every year we see the entire state of Louisiana is not much different than 1 small section of Texas (East Texas).  It probably has something to do with demographics 🤷‍♂️ .  Oh look 👀Mississippi and Alabama are similar to Louisiana and beast Texas too.

And, your point is?

East Texas may as well be part of Louisiana. You seen a map lately.

What's any of this have to do with my post?

Said it in an earlier thread Texas was gonna have a lot in the early rounds this year.   Thought this would be an unusually low year for Fl.   Might not finish in the top 2 since....shoot not sure lol.

ACC let Florida down.

Miami/Florida St having off years.

Now if they could just figure out how to play well on Sundays......

Well, you can't win em' all.

More HOF's than any State but don't  use that as a guide for performance.  TX 30 CA 19 FL 11 GA 9.  Not really close and yes you have  been playing football b4 the 80s because Deacon Jones is a member.  🤣

Didn't a 3nd year bEast Texas kid named Mahomes II win the Super Bowl Yep not much to show at all. 2nd Youngest winner in NFL History.   He made the NFL Defenses Big 12 quality 😎 damn near half the league has a TX kid at QB.

The only quarterback in history to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season in both college and the NFL. Don't  forget he threw 50tds one year too.

A lot of kids last year went early and a bunch of players this year stayed.   Don’t know how Bama keeps kids like Leatherwood from entering.   Bama, UGA, and Clemson have some magic ability to keep kids another year that would easily get drafted.

Yeah and #2 is Pennsylvania.

An indication of, well, nothing really.

It means at the highest level they have produced more Elite players than everyone other than Texas at the highest level.  That's actually what it means.

It means they're on "old" state that merely had a lot of Hall of Fame caliber players many, many years ago.

That's what it means.

Texas has been far behind Florida in producing NFL draft picks and NFL stars for years and years.

Yeah Delpit

Another Katrina kid with a story.

https://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_29aa8090-c859-11e8-9d7d-8771ce5f5552.html

There have been 5 or 6 Katrina kids drafted so far this year. Been a Katrina draft year really.

Does't really matter who gets credit for them. We don't need the credit. ...just great seeing them do big things.

Man, Jake Fromm might not get drafted.

I didn't think he was all that great anyways. Remember saying so.

Final:
TX-34
Cal- 22
GA-21
FLa- 18
LA-12
Ala- 11

33 for Texas if you don’t count Delpit -  very unusual double digit lead for Texas this year.

Every year the texan's flex a little draft muscle with nothing really to show for it.

Almost like printing money every year, but they can't spend it.

So true. Even the NFL scouts are fooled by the stadiums and fake hype.

Yeah, nothing like 50k in a stadium to confirm this, but travel west to a stadium of parents of relatives and that pretty much confirms your statement.... Huh?

See, how that works?

Watch out claiming S-Grant Delpit as a Houston,TX kid.    You'll have Swampnutzzz coming after you.

I mean.. forget the fact that he lived in Houston since he was 6 and played Pop-Warner, Junior High and High School (3 years) and Senior year at IMG.

He was basically born in Louisiana so he is a Louisiana kid.😀

Houston is off the mf'n chart for players.  For about 40 straight years them and Miami have been at the top for  single city output to the NFL - Miami having the 1 spot and Houston the 2 but it looks like that changed this year,  NOLA and Jacks, FL are always in the mix also

Thing about these cities is that its not just a population thing - their per capita player ratio is always tops as well
