Memorial Day weekend means NCAA lacrosse

Towson, Ohio St, Denver and Maryland will vie for the title in Foxboro, Mass.  Noted lax lover Bill Belichick spent all day visiting the teams, and addressed them at the banquet tonight.  Wish Hopkins was there, but now it is go Towson!   Maryland NEVER!

It's been a nice year for the University of Denver. They are in the final four for the 5th time in the last 7 years, and although it'll be a challenge today against #1 seed Maryland, they're looking to get the lax title to go along with their hockey title this year. And their men's soccer lost to Wake Forest in the national semifinals, while their ski team ended up as national runners-up. Not too shabby, Pios!

As long as Tierney leads them, they are a real threat, if not the favorite.  2 amazing coaches in Foxboro this weekend - one coaches lacrosse.

DU has found a number of good coaches for their various teams, and Tierney is at the top. Chauncey Billups' younger brother Rodney is giving a go at bringing some basketball notoriety to the school, leading the men's hoops program to a 16-14 record in this, his first, year (there's a lot more lax and soccer and hockey and skiing talent around here than hoops, though).

Rooting for an all-MD championship. Don't think the Terps could recover if they lost out on their first championship since the 70s to another "2nd-tier" MD school after losing to Loyola MD in the championship a few years back.

Salisbury going a 12th national championship vs. RIT in the D-III title game.

Women's national title game is MD vs. Boston College. BC held off a late Navy rally. Would have liked to see Navy win it all.

My son committed to play at Washington College in MD. Solid D3 program with a rich lax history.

Congrats,

Great school and program. One of the best rivalries in the War on the Shore too.

Centennial Conference athletics are a lot of fun. All great academic schools that excel in a ton of sports as well. Can't beat the travel footprint as a parent or fan either all nice close trips.
