Mater Dei's biggest question mark were their DBs coming this season. But apparently 4 of their underclassmen DBs already have D-1 offers. They also got a 6'6 240 pound D'E transfer Mike Martinez who was offered by Oregon recently. Sounds like they're gonna be scary good this season.

Martinez is being highly recruited as a tight end. He will be one of the best at this position for the class of 2019. He has been impressive this Spring. I can see him at DE also.

They got another transfer Mase Funa who will be a big addition to the MD defense.

I told you a couple mos  ago that MD had 2 Linebackers transfer in.   Why you continue to doubt me is puzzling.

How is their pass protection, though. JT Daniels is definitely all the hype. However, he needs protection to create his magic.

Seems years ago the Stache wasn't big on transfers or playing oos games. Now it's all changed .... I wonder y ?

Some highly touted Servite players for whatever reason are apparently leaving Servite too. Wouldn't be surprised to see some land at MD this summer.

Word on the street is they have checked in to Orange Lutheran. At least a couple of them have (WR and TE).

You can say the same for your alma mater!! Tell me the last time BC accepted a senior football xfer. This may take a while.

BCs motto this season is "All In" for a reason!

You are correct BC doesn't normally except senior transfers but name one school/coach that  would turn Snead away in the BNU? That would be zero.

And let's not compare who BC has played oos versus Mater Dei. MD has the best team ever in the history of their program than they start making phone calls to bishop Gorman, BC etc

please no one tell me the MD teams in the 90s were better than this team because they weren't ... I saw the film. MDs team last year is rollinson's best team ever despite the hiccup against sjb.

The 94 and 96 teams are better. Division 1 kids everywhere as well.

Gonna see if sausman has MD games in those years in his Rolodex.

I was speaking more about the late 90s grottogoed teams ... and the mater dei team that finished 2nd in USA Today even with a loss. Figured with that ranking most would say that was their best.

Its the same offensive line from last year everyone returns. as said 10 offensive  starters return.

Martinez is not a transfer. I don't know where you got that information from? He's always been at MD. He was a tackle last year but was hurt most of the year. He's not 240 pounds. He's is 6-6 but 220 pounds and he's not a DE, he's a Tight End.

so 98 was the year I was speaking to...

94 and 96 finished 1 .... any notable players on those squads?

Rod Perry might have been biggest name. But he was snake bit with injuries. Guy really had some bad luck, but great 2 sport football/baseball athlete.

Just looked up some info .... rollinson seems to think 94 was his best team ever.

94 may indeed be the best MD team based on how they finished. But I have been watching MD football since well before Stache was the coach..... last year was the best team they ever assembled. In 94 there was not the parity of today. From a pure talent perspective it is not even close. The scary thing is that this year's team could be better. They have the same offense. They lost some key defensive players but with the addition of the 2 transfers plus some young studs they certainly have the talent. The only question mark I see going into next season is the kicking game as they have 2 huge gaps to fill since last year their kickers were absolutely outstanding.
