Many are in their own mind. In reality, they represent probably less than .00001% of humanity. So, if you don't make the cut, it's not a big deal. True genius does not learn the inventions of others but rather evolves information from ponderance. Look at TRump, in many regards the village idiot and yet he is genius in mass psychology, self promotion and theater. We need all types but if push came to shove I'd take the guy that can deduce information independent of established science. He is mentally unstable but exhibits some of the characteristics of genius. I would not be a follower of his and would not want him as President, but I acknowledge there is certainly a place for the Musk's of the world. Reading a book about him. I think Bezos is just a ruthless, intelligent businessman, not a genius. Not sure about Gates. I would be inclined to rank Jobs above him on the genius scale. I believe IQ is a very imperfect measure for determining genius. It does not account for creativity properly. I believe Justice Potter Stewart's position regarding pornography applies to genius.
