What are key traits and signs of someone with a low IQ?

- Obsessing over how “bad” Lake Travis is.

- Overusing the word, “clueless” & “🤡” emoji.

- Displaying hate for Texas 🏈 when they could be enjoying their own states’ 🏈. [They ❤️ Texas 🏈]

- Creating multiple accounts to make the same jokes.

- Sharing constant narcissistic tendencies while always having to be right. Everyone else is wrong, or stupid. Never actually providing constructive criticism.

Let me tell you about IQ...

You can have a high IQ and still be stupid...

You need more than Booksmarts to make it through life...

You need some street smarts and sharp wits to make it as well...

Never thought I was good at basic problem-solving, limiting my ability to become anything extraordinary.

I hope you're not talking about your self.  You're a cool kat and easy to get along with.  Unlike some of the others on this side of the board.  Be happy you're not filled with hate like certain one's on this side.  They have it worse.

much appreciated. I just have high expectations for myself and if I can't solve basic problems then that makes it hard to realistically think you could ever be considered a genius

Very few geniuses out there. Many are in their own mind. In reality, they represent probably less than .00001% of humanity. So, if you don't make the cut, it's not a big deal. I am pretty sure no one on this board does.

there are many different types of intelligence

Most people think it's memorizing what is in text books... way wrong. True genius does not learn the inventions of others but rather evolves information from ponderance.

Look at TRump, in many regards the village idiot and yet he is genius in mass psychology, self promotion and theater.

We need all types but if push came to shove I'd take the guy that can deduce information independent of established science.

BTW, if you are seriously interested in having your question answered, ask Google.  She knows about everything. 😉

Would you say Elon Musk is a genius or extremely hard working and put his creativity to work?

He is mentally unstable but exhibits some of the characteristics of genius. I would not be a follower of his and would not want him as President, but I acknowledge there is certainly a place for the Musk's of the world.

How about Bezos?

I would say Bill Gates is a genius, very bright in many areas. Reading a book about him.

I think Bezos is just a ruthless, intelligent  businessman, not a genius. Not sure about Gates. I would be inclined to rank Jobs above him on the genius scale. You should also look at some of the pioneering scientists of our era to identify some geniuses.

You should read the book called Building the Microsoft Empire, Gates had all kinds of extraordinary abilities. By all accounts, Bezos stumps even the brightest engineers during presentations, but I do agree with you on him.

Robert Oppenheimer has always been a favorite of mine. Behind him, James Sidis and Albert Einstein.

Oppenheimer was no doubt a very talented scientist. I would rank Einstein above him as he was more of a pioneer. I don't know enough about Sidis to comment.

They are some current day scientists who I don't think are being given their just due.

What would you consider the cutoff  (IQ) for 'genius' lol...

I believe IQ is a very imperfect measure for determining genius. It does not account for creativity properly. I believe Justice Potter Stewart's position regarding pornography applies to genius. "You (if you are discerning) know it when you see it."
