Is the guy that does this poll not from California, or am I mistaking?

They were in California for a few years... not sure if they are actually from Cali or not. They were also in Pennsylvania for a while.

Doesnt really say exactly where they are from.

I thought I read somewhere that Jeff Fisher is a Californicator. If that is the case, then this will no doubt be Pops second favorite poll.

Ive looked at their polls for the past few years... they appear pretty fair.

If anything, they favor Texas more than anyone else.

Their National Champs were Allen in 2013 & 2014, Colquitt in 2015, and BG in 2016.

This poll is an algorithm just like calpreps. It'll be interesting to compare.

... with a special secret sauce :)

* special rankings sauce for you lol

Not a funky poll at all...  good for him that he wanted to tinker.   What I'd do for Leonard, Raj, Sheldon and Wolowitz to help figure out 'K' below with a HSFB ELOS ratings system.   Penny and I will be at the bar.   :)

you seemed really bothered about that. am I wrong?

Yes

i don't think about it at all nor really care

just saying I'm out on echs's call for support based on their history and it's obvious to anyone why echs likes it

FWIW, I'm also fine with CQ calling themselves MNC in '15 -- it's a legit poll and I have no issue with anyone that wins a national poll recognizing that particular accomplishment

Not sure how you get they favor TX

all other MNCs were named by multiple other sources, but I think CQ got this and the Adel Herald

And youre sure thats what its about?

Theres only a few polls...USAT --- old as dirt, sucks... CP --- a computer with too many flaws to take serious nationally, good for info ... MaxPreps --- the Xcellent 25 is ok with me.... HSFBA --- they are making a top 100 and the quality of the poll is good... PrepNation --- its not bad either... PrepForce --- I guess its ok, last year was the 1st id heard of it

If you actually look, youll see its a solid poll. And I doubt you can find anything you dont like about it.

Oh hell California finished at 1 here comes ECHS thesis on how horrible HSFA is at national ratings

Have you even bothered reading any of my posts? Like the 1st one that started this thread.

SJB is a worthy #1 in that scenario.

A poll that is done using a stretch of years, is always going to favor Private schools over Public.

Yes I've read this entire thread I just figured you liked this algorithm because it had a GA team MNC one year. How about DLS? Are they a worthy #4

Yeah.... it HAS to be bc they had Colquitt MNC in 2015. It can't be they have a respectable poll. Doesnt mean I agree with their rankings completely, they just have as solid of a poll as any Ive seen. Much better than MaxPreps Xcellent 25, CalPreps(shouldnt even be considered), PrepForce(who also had Colquitt MNC in 2015), USAToday, etc... I like PrepNations poll, just not as much as HSFBA. With the HSFB100 gone for good, the HSFBA poll should now be the poll of record.

And No. It sickens me to see DLS gain such position by beating overrated teams in Northern California that theyve beaten for the past 25 years... and by beating a few lacking SoCal teams. Them beating Cen10 is just a bad matchup. All those years DLS beat Cen10, SJB or MD wouldve sent them home with a 3 TD loss. Cen10 style of play gives them an advantage vs certain teams, and can keep them in any game... DLSs style just nullifies Cen10s better than SJB or MD. Matchups.

Reality is, DLS should probably not even be in a top 25.
