Georgia finally gets a scaling boost at CalPreps

Its been 9 years since GA really got a scaling boost, on the national level, large enough to notice. And while it wasnt so much at the top, the upper-mid level teams have gotten a good boost.

Florida was the last noticeable recipient of a national scaling boost, back in the 2015 preseason... they were given more highly rated top teams and quite a few more at the upper-mid level.

A boost at the upper-mid level (250-1000) means more teams for the top teams to feed their rating on, which means the potential for a higher # of top rated teams.

While it still isnt on the level of some states, Georgia has started the last 9 Preseasons with 40-46 Top 1000 teams, very consistently. (It was like 20 Pre-2008). This year, or atleast at this moment, GA has a total of 62 Top 1000 teams. Yes, this will impact GAs national ratings in a positive way, compared to previous seasons, as the season gets started....

So ... cheers, Ned. Its a step in the right direction... now lets continue to follow the patterns, and you may have a good product soon.

Says the guy who makes daily threads about his favorite person in the world. I log on to this site in the morning to check out a good football thread, and I get "The Real Caj" posting a thread title like "Trump uses double ply toilet paper"

Someone needs to report you back to the mental institution you broke out of

We here at the Prepgridiron Executive committee make every effort to understand the various concerns of our members.   I want to give kudos to our sub committee on interstate equity for their efforts over the past 10 months in lobbying the staff over at Calpreps with regards to Georgia's predicament.  But like other states who have borne the responsibility of living up to a more substantial initial rating, it will be incumbent on the Ga teams to venture outside the south over the next 2 years, in order to maintain their increased ratings.

We look forward to some exciting relevant games featuring Ga teams in 2018 and 2019.

Congratulations, and thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Congrats. Now maybe GA can start scheduling relevant, non-border state OOS opponents!!

Found some potential funding for them ?

High school athletic programs in need of funding help will be the focus of a sports drink maker's project that will award a share of $1 million to 500 athletic programs around the country.

Power Your School, sponsored by Powerade, is asking participants to submit written or video essays that detail their schools' needs. Contest entries will be judged on school need, creativity and quality of submission.

Entries must be submitted no later than midnight Sept. 30.

I'll talk to the powers that be at CCHS. We could use some extra funding to expand on our nutritional supplement program.

Probably won't have anything left over to pay OOS travel expenses though.
