1A Irwin County beat 7A Tift County.

That was this year, right? 35-20

Tift was 2-8.....still, that's a David and Goliath story. 1A is small.

I was told by someone here two days ago Georgia 5A, 6A and 7A don't schedule 3As and below basically. Guess that was wrong.

3A Cedar Grove beat 7A Milton in their first game of the year, 14-7.

Texas people dying because of the lack of offense.

3A Union Parish beat 5A Ouachita Parish this year 44-41.

Ouachita Parish was 1-5 (lost some close ones though). They play in the same district as West Monroe. West Monroe beat Ouachita Parish 23-14..

Union Parish enrollment 513

Ouachita Parish enrollment 1200

Union Parish is another of our Power 3As most years....much talent.

Cedar Grove is normally pretty stout.

Georgia 3As are a lot larger than Louisiana 3As.

My man, Ga96!

You are going off 1 game. Im going off of years. Teams like Lowndes rarely ever play teams 1A-3A. Tift played crisp for Covid reasons and Milton played cedar grove because they could do their bowl this year. Is it that hard to understand?

Thought they played Champ because their previous opponent canceled on very short notice.

it may have been the reason they played, besides in all fairness Champagnat Catholic would beat a good portion of the larger schools in Florida but to act like the GA teams would avoid small teams is silly

These teams are gonna look for games, they may prefer to only play large schools but in the end they will take whoever will play them

Games against Madison were back when our classifications stopped at 5A. Both Lowndes and Valdosta coaches have saud they will not play smaller schools or sorry schools like yours at all. That other school from Jacksonville was scheduled pre rush. Rush is waiting on Valdostas current schedule to end and Dubose is already looking nationwide.

Small school dont bring in the money. If you win the look is "so what you beat a smaller school that you are supposed to beat" if you lose you end up like tift being a joke to the entire region.

Exactly and that team is on like a 4year streak of state championships.

4 years of appearances would be accurate

2 years consecutive of winning, beat Victory Christian last year, beat University Christian this year

2018 lost to North Florida Christian in finals

though 2017 they also beat University Christian in finals

that may technically be true but truthfully I could name a team in Florida like Trinity Christian or Chaminade who would beat like 90% of the teams in 5-8a but then again they are private schools in very large metros with loose transfer rules so they can stockpile talent that is on par with a lot of elite teams in the state

I'm not as familiar with the transfer rules in Georgia but really the only metro in the state is the Atlanta area so basically it would be as if say Cedar Grove had loose transfer rules and started accepting double digits worth of D1 players
