I pulled the cover off of my pile of fire wood last year and had 2 gardener snake's and a small Rat snake laying under there nice and cozy. I also had a big rat snake 4ft. longish come right up my walkway looking for some chimpmonks...it was real fast!

They like hanging up in the rafters,

had no idea rat snakes got that big until I moved into this house.

There were two monster sized ones that I had to evict when I moved in, that had obviously been around for a while.

But if they are around they are usually nice enough to leave signs like their skins.

Fairly common to see them cruising, when you are cutting the grass and such.

You are right tho about the easy pickings, hawks love them and will strike them immediately.

PS: next time get a picture 👍, it will remind you of the Mexican flag...

You should get at least a a pair in that nest soon 👍

time for a zoom lens lol...

I used my wife's cheap cell phone to take the picture that's why it's so shitty...and believe it or not me and the Ms, saw a Red Tail hawk with a snake today driving home around the corner from my house. The snakes around here have no chance!

Hey....You looking at ME?

IMG_0368.jpg.0d9130a511e90d4e2ffa8b4080b7afec.jpg

Just another day in May...

Mr Rubythroat found a woman

The Swallows set up camp in their regular spot, on the stable's front porch,

A junior Cooper hawk came in to attack

and wound up getting attacked, right back...

...by the pack 😲

...and I was just saying to my wife, that I was not wanting to have to pull another snake off of that pole by the nest, to save any chicks. 🤷‍♂️  Maybe that Cooper hawk will grow up and learn to wait for the snake LOL.

Enjoy...

LOLOL I thought similar in the last pic 🤣

We got a bit of a dry patch here, and the grass has already got the June burn...

Didn't really notice until I saw 66's pic.

Lawns are nice, but if you are pumping with chemical fertilizer or paying somebody else to do all the work...

well...

That would be called CHEATING....LOLOL
