If you watch the entire video of the arrest and follow the science, you can make a case for reasonable doubt.

Lets give Floyd the benefit of the doubt and accept that when he was originally placed into the cruiser declaring he couldn’t breathe, he was being truthful.  What would cause him to have shortness of breath.  Likely not arrest anxiety as he was well experienced at that.  What would have caused him to have 3.5 times the normal lethal level of Fentanyl metabolites for a person of his size.  Did he mistakenly take too much?  Not likely, his personal history shows he was an experienced and proficient drug user.  Given his issues with drug use, finding Fentanyl on his person would have landed him some considerable jail time.  So, it’s pretty likely that the white mass seen in his mouth on frame by frame video was in fact a packet of Fentanyl that he swallowed hoping it would pass through his system.   Add to the scenario that someone with the level of Fentanyl he had in his system would have collapsed pretty quickly and wouldn’t have been cruising around with his buddy passing off counterfeit bills.

The fact that he was high explains his erratic behavior and ill witted decision to force his way back out of the cruiser which at that particular moment, represented his safest space.  He might even have been able to convince officers to get him medical attention.

The arresting officers actions certainly didn’t help the situation but after swallowing the Fentanyl (if that’s what happened) he basically set himself up for cardiac arrest.

It was a pretty tragic situation overall but why ignore the science to continue the tragedy?  Chauvin will never work again and Floyd’s family is now on easy street.

The question is, going forward, how do we prevent that sort of situation playing out without compromising public safety?

Very simple, "comply or you can die"....Follow orders, period....Raging, provoking, wearing a hoodie with hands in pockets, talking back, running, fighting, screaming, cursing at police, questioning why your stoped with aggression, throwing things at police,etc.....These guys are stupid and arrogant....

Chauvin was of depraved indifference and most certainly guilty of murder.    Life in prison, the electric chair would be too humane.    bgw

You can't choke out a person by kneeling on the back of their neck.Try it if you don't believe me.

Chauvin only weighs 140 lbs.

Not that it matters but none of you have defended the point in having him on the ground for eight minutes.

Even while unresponsive 🤷🏻‍♀️

Was he not already in a police car ready to be arrested?

He did not comply, case closed....Period...

Still a mob.

Just a different mob.

I have not seen a mob but then I'm not a scared angry delusional member of the 'always defend racist and liars' cult.  And just so you know, you have zero credibility on anything concerning anything so you shouldn't bother wasting keystrokes  replying.

Have a great day.

You didn’t see the mob last summer? Just peaceful protests huh? That’s what Maddow and Lemon spoon fed you? And you ate it all up? Jeez you are one dumb sumbitch. Just because you call for open borders and socialism doesn’t mean you are a good person. In fact it makes you a garbage human. You hate America and cheer for its demise. Maybe that’s why you didn’t see the riots and mobs all last summer

they gonna hit him with a guilty verdict to prevent a riot by you know who

It still comes down to what the jury decides.  However, a scared jury, a judge that refused to allow a change of venue, a wrongful death award prior to Chauvin even being tried, and a defense lawyer that’s clearly just going through the motions, makes it a strong likelihood of a guilty verdict.

Humanity is in a far greater place given the fact that you are far away from any decision making in regard to criminal justice.

The justice system was actually created to stop mobs like you

Uh huh... carry on Jim Crow.

Qualified immunity is an extension of that... you do know Chauvin’s very own superiors condemned his actions?

The justice system was designed to allow someone to prove their innocence when accused of a crime. If you can prove it, then you should be free to go. Mob justice is something you see in the 3rd world countries and in Hollywood movies. It’s not reality in a functioning democracy. You can say he’s guilty because you are afraid of the aftermath. That’s not justice. That’s a kangaroo court

I've charged anybody to find one instance where concha, et al didn't defend a killer/liar/crook that committed his crime in what was considered a defense of right-wing America.

Still waiting.

It was significantly higher than "trace amounts" FWIW.

The autopsy showed he had 11 nanograms per milliliter, which is 3X what is commonly considered a "fatal" level. Obviously with a guy that size YMMV in terms of potential fatality, but he was clearly pretty drugged up.
