Imagine if the man I was partly named after got back his life when he was killed fighting to free the slaves among other things in the civil war. My great, great etc aunt would not have lost her tavern or the life savings she had. Funny thing is my great aunt, and direct descendant willed her historical home to the State of New Hampshire. Maybe you can go get reparations from her home in Manchester.

By The Way. I have no problems with the states that enslaved men, women, and Children paying 40 acres to the descendants or what ever the deal they were supposed to be promised, but they have to prove that a direct family member was a slave. The reparations should not go to ever person that happens to be of color. Some African Americans came to America after slavery ended. I have a mixed family so I get to hear the discussions.

Being treated unfairly because of color in wages and legal problems is another discussion. And I feel it is a legit discussion.

However, tearing America apart is not the answer to the problems. Reasonable people making reasonable decisions would be a start. Just don't beat the crap of people because of skin color. You and I both know that is just wrong on all levels.

Scratch, I wonder what the Confederate soldiers were fighting for, since 95% owned no slaves?

It’s was sold by rich, black elites in Africa. They came over here to sell slaves to white farmers. Most were illiterate and couldn’t speak English. So the black rich guys came here and said you pay us one time, you get a lifetime of free manual labor to tend your lands.

Back then everything was about survival. There was no moral guidance. Some slaves were treated better than when they were back in Africa.

Looking back it was a terrible thing to partake in. The entire world has had slavery at all corners throughout history. The North African Barbary Slave trade saw countless of white Europeans enslaved into Africa for decades.

I don’t want to hear shit about slavery from 150 years ago until we address the slavery from 500 and 2,000 years ago first

One of your best and directed  at  several of the "low information, racist, foul  mouthed and historically devoid group of creatures"........🔨🔨

Humor me heah BUT! Could you jog my memory, as to when the WHITE Indentured Servants of Georgia, received THEIR reparations? For those uneducated multitudes!(DEMOCRATS) Indentured Servitude was pre Revolutionary War white slavery!

How was the Revolution and the Louisiana Purchase financed?

It sure as shit wasn’t off the backs of a few white indentured servants.

Percentage should mean nothing when it is both Republican and Democrat's that own the top percent of wealth.

Both sides are being played.

Spread the wealth evenly and do socialist shit to make sure it stays spread and "just".

Guess what happens to the standard of living (see "Venezuela").

Stupidity should be painful.

That fuktard is typing this stupidity on a computer that existís today (and that he can afford to buy) because of capitalism.

That is exactly right except that the % does mean something.  If people really understood how only a few people control nearly all the wealth they might be less enthusiastic about not demanding they pay what they should.  What is amazing to me is that those who are most definitely not part of that small group of obscenely rich defend them hording all the money and get angry when it is suggested that the rich pay more.  Even if the rich did pay more they would still be so rich they couldn't spend it if they wanted to.

Both sides are being played and have been for a long time now.  That doesn't mean that there are not other significant problems that must be dealt like climate change, but even the science behind that has been politicized, and only 1 political party that is responsible for not addressing it.  Maybe if more Republican voters would demand that their representative take action it would go a long way.

You are such a tool.  Nothing you said is even remotely on point.  That the rich might have to pay more (and still be so rich they wouldn't notice) is not a bad thing.  Young people going in debt for the majority of their earning lifetime is a bad thing.  Not having access to medical care or going bankrupt because of a single emergency is a bad thing.  Being laid off and having to wait in a food line the next week is a bad thing.  Having old lead pipes (Flint) that can't be fixed for years is a bad thing.  Not dealing with climate change is a bad thing.  You think people coming to our southern border is a bad thing now but just wait until people begin moving in mass because that will happen.

Nobody wants to make the super rich poor.  They still get to be super rich and the average American can get some of the benefits of working hard and enjoy a better standard of living.  And none of this affects you in the least.  You are not in that super rich group.  If you were not such a simple person and had any honesty this would all be obvious.

Dear Fukwit:

The rich and high earners already pay the lion's share of federal income taxes. And they have for a long time. About half of tax filers pay little to nothing, or actually get a pay day after filing "their taxes". The taxes are in large part for federal programs that keep Washington powerful. And rich, at least in the burbs.

Did you know that 6 of the 10 richest counties in the US - including the top 3 - are located just outside DC? There are over 3,000 counties in this country in total, just to lend some perspective.  These 6 counties tend to be overwhelmingly Dem and not very black - unlike the city they surround, which is very poor and very black. Oh, and very run by Dems for ages.  You know, the folks you vote for and tongue the balls of. That seems like a strange situation. Or not. Dems lie and pander to blacks very well. They aren't really interested in helping them.

Oh, and young people should not be stupid and should go to schools they can afford and study for degrees that actually can provide incomes upon graduation.

here you go 👍

Democrats are the party of the wealthy, a flip from decades ago when it was the party of the poor and middle class.

Democrats represented 65% of taxpayers with a household income of $500,000 or more in 2020, according to IRS data, while 74% of taxpayers in Republican districts have household incomes of less than $100,000.

In 1993, the dynamic was reversed, with the typical Republican congressional district showing it was 14% wealthier than its Democratic counterpart. In 2020, data shows those Republican districts were now 13% poorer.

The data comes as some Democrats push to end former President Donald Trump’s 2017 tax law, which caps the federal deduction for state and local taxes at $10,000. The beneficiaries would predominantly be the 1% of the United States’s wealthiest households, with property owners in high-tax states benefiting from the relief on federal taxes.

NEW YORK HOUSE DEMOCRATS PRESS FOR REPEAL OF SALT DEDUCTION CAP

Democrats who won previously Republican districts campaigned on restoring the deduction, especially in states such as New York and New Jersey, where a handful of red districts were flipped blue in 2018.

“I’m not voting for any change in the tax code whatsoever unless there’s the restoration of the SALT tax deduction. I’m laying that chit on the table,” Democratic New York Rep. Tom Suozzi said.

Some lawmakers are even threatening to derail President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion infrastructure package if it does not include reversing Trump’s cap on tax deductions, with a group of lawmakers sending a letter to Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the matter earlier this month.

We’re going to keep fighting until this is part of the bill. It’s as critical as a road or a bridge or a tunnel, which is why we are going to keep fighting for it until the end,” New Jersey Democratic Rep. Josh Gottheimer said.

PS: So as you were saying ....

BTW : and please explain your left giving tax breaks to all these mistaken rich folk 👀

Not quite true, the top pay less than the top in the 50s, and have continued to pay less over time.

The top 1% holds 42.5% of the national wealth. The wealthiest 1% of U.S. residents -- about 3.29 million people -- hold 42.5% of our national wealth, while the remaining 325.7 million people share the remaining 57.5%, according to Inequality.org. No other country in the world has so much wealth concentrated in the hands of the few.
