Who are the top ten coaches ever, in your state and why?

Every coach who has won in a major way has eventually benefitted from a disproportionate share of talent. What separates the great coaches from the rest are those who managed to win a significant amount when they had no real advantage in talent acquisition. In other words, there is no compelling reason to believe Biff is anything special.

Bob Ladouceur -De La Salle

399-25-3 in 33yrs

11 MNC’s

No point in talking about anybody else.

WHY are you bozos SOOOO arrogant? Lad was a big fish in a mudhole! He beat virtually NO ONE during his 5000 game winning streak. And just so you know, he was standing next to their current coach, when STA TOOK UM OUT! He still has tremendous input into their everyday program, but the competition is far more demanding.

BUT, BUT, BUT, Curry as we both know, got his team placed on probation for two years, for recruiting violations! And they have been irrelevant ever since I saw um play in 1994, against Glenn Mill! And they struggled defensively, against a reform school with 21 new starters!

If all that’s true, why didn’t any other coach in Nor Cal do what he did? Ever! Everyone claims lack of competition but no other coach, public or private did it, they all played the same competition. Public I can see but all the privates have the same advantages of DLS as far as getting players from outside the local area but again, no other coach did it or has done it since. Coach Lad is truly special!!

You are Clueless..... When Lad Took DLS and the Winning Streak Record on the Road to So Cal to a play MD in 1998, MD had won 2 SS D1 Titles and 2 MNC’s  in the Prior 4 Years.... MD won SS D1 Titles Back to Back in 1998 and 1999.....

When Lad took the Streak On the road to So Cal in 2001 to play LBP, LBP was a 2 time defending SS D1 Champion and ranked #1 in the Country and won the SS D1 Title in 2001.... Thus Making LBP a 3 Time Defending SSD1 Champion when they played again in 2002...

So from 1998 to 2001 Lad Beat The Actual SS D1 Champion 3 out of 4 years, and Beat the 3 Time Defending Champ in 2002, Including Playing their Best Teams on the Road in 1998 and 2001....

Obviously these both can't be true.

You're counting the tie in 1999 as a win for both.

Off the top of my head for Georgia as previously mentioned:

Larry Campbell-Lincoln County

Nick Hyder -Valdosta

Wright Bazemore-Valdosta

Luther Welsh- Coached numerous schools... now Coach Welsh deserves a thread of his own.... God rest his soul he passed away... but you can't bring up coaches and not mention him in Georgia he and Larry Campbell coached a Long Ass time... think Welsh started in the early 60's late 50's he literally coached until he died...

Buck Godfrey-Southwest Dekalb coached for 30 years at the same school won 1 state title, numerous runner ups. 13 Region titles... He's also the only Black HC in the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Also responsible for one of the most memorable games in Georgia History.

Southwest Dekalb vs Valdosta-1994 GA 4A semifinals...

Ok Rab now your being a douche for no other reason then wanting to be a douche, don’t be a Redzone and start threads solely for the purpose of talking shit about everybody’s reply. If you have a list of coaches that are in the same league as Lad then post it.

I'd throw in Conrad Nix of Northside WR, Jimmy Dorsey of McEachern, Allen Chadwick of Marist, Bob Davis of WR, Henderson from Clarke Central and Herron from Camden Co.

Conrad Nix most certainly could throw his hat in the ring his Northside WR squads  where legendary wish they would've played against a team like Hoover. Man I bet those would've been some good games.

Allen Chadwick has been at it awhile too 1987- Still coaching all at Marist

Jeff Herron- started at Walton in Marietta in the early 80s. Went to Oconee County won 2 titles, went to Camden won 3. Went to Prince Avenue won 1 then won 1 at Grayson.

Billy Henderson... can't believe I forgot his name off the list.
