LSU reaches into Texas as well

What school doesn't reach into Texas or recruit Texas?

LSU doesn't have the first commit from Texas this year...so far.

https://247sports.com/college/lsu/Season/2022-Football/Commits/

2021-2 commits

2020-3 commits

2019-2 commits

2018-3 commits

2017-6 commits

I don't think you can say LSU has raided Texas recently.

That said. Texas could send 10 teams to the SEC and LSU will still pull some Houston area kids if they want them because of the university's and state’s connections to Houston.

We will be more than fine.

Oklahoma St is like "what we do now?"......which is a great question.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are big mad that the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners are likely gearing up to head to greener pastures in the SEC. I mean very mad.

“We have heard unconfirmed reports that OU and UT approached Southeastern Conference officials about joining the SEC,” Oklahoma State officials said in a prepared statement after news broke yesterday. “We are gathering information and will monitor closely. If true, we would be gravely disappointed. While we place a premium on history, loyalty and trust, be assured, we will aggressively defend and advance what is best for Oklahoma State and our strong athletic program, which continues to excel in the Big 12 and nationally.”

Some of those Big 12 teams would be good fits in the AAC with Houston, Cincinnati, Memphis UCF, South Florida Tulane, SMU and etc.....

That League has 11 schools playing football.....they could use 2 or 3 more.

I don't think anyone is going to want to rush to the  Big 12 to replace Oklahoma and Texas.

The entire landscape is about to change.

The Texas Teasippers in the SEC??? LOL...Bring em on!!! And Chokelahoma knows from Bama what a beatdown is like. They must have decided they want to play varsity ball now instead of JV. LOL

Both UT and Ok will right out the gate compete with Fla, LSU, and GA.

You must've forgotten how easily Texas A&M and Missouri competed in the SEC when they first got there. Newsflash: every SEC school knows what it's like to get beat-down by the best program in college football.

Oklahoma has beaten Alabama, Auburn and Florida in bowl games over the last 8 years. They'll do just fine.

there has been talk of USC leaving the Pac12...maybe going indy...the Pac may need a few team from the dying Big12...if the pick up a few TX school and can see that making Pac12 stronger and adding to the member school's reach

That's complete nonsense.

If anything Notre Dame is closer to joining a conference today than ever.

USC doesn't have a larger and more dispersed fan base than Notre Dame.

when it comes to football USC is the cornerstone of the Pac12...the Pac12 is a power conference when USC is good...the duck are great but dont pull in eyeballs...if you had to rank sports teams in SoCal it goes like this:

  1. Lakers
  2. Dodgers
  3. USC Football
  4. UCLA Basketball
  5. Rams
  6. Mater Dei
  7. Clippers
  8. Angeles
  9. UCLA Football
  10. Chargers

they may be in the middle of a 15 year spell but USC would do well on their own or as a big time program in another P5

That has nothing to do with being an independent.

Boise State is the cornerstone of the Mountain West. Doesn't mean they should be independent.

Idk Oklahoma has had the SEC's number when it mattered most... outside of Georgia. One thing I give the big 12 flack for is no defense....

But OU offense has always been Potent like Rattlesnake venom.

Outside of Georgia and Alabama there's no other high powered Offense that you can even compare to Oklahoma in the SEC.  As of now anyway....

I think Oklahoma in the SEC would throw a screw into some of yalls line of thinking....

And Texas with their money would eventually catch up....

Bama beat OU in 2018 Orange Bowl.

16 teams, 8 per division

West

LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Miss St, Missouri

East

Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vanderbilt

If THAT were to be the conference realignment! SOMEBODY had better have a sixteen team playoff system in place!

If the Longhorns and Sooners join the SEC I could see LSU losing a foothold in Texas...

Caj was downplaying Texas’ relevance for LSU, but it it their #1 OOS site the last 10 years with 37 signees, more than twice the number of the next state.  And it is just not the #, but who signs.  If the SEC wants Texas, LSU will have to be bought off.  And they may well be.
