Or the Texas state championship. Or even Florida if they played the state’s best postseason. Their players will never know. (But they’ll know the loneliness of their dorms, away from their families, at 15, 16 and 17 years old-throwing away part of growing up. IMG has got to be a lonely, empty place for a teenager. Their players will hopefully graduate without the lifetime thrill of playing for a state championship or even being local “heroes.” Bradenton, other than the jobs IMG creates, doesn’t give a damn about IMG.
