Woodlawn (Baton Rouge) 35 #19 Catholic (Baton Rouge) 28 Final

Woodlawn is more known as a basketball school. They almost won a MNC in basketball in 2002 ending up #2......they run out some ATHs in basketball and football though, believe that! Typical East Baton Rouge school.

"The 2002–2003 boys basketball team garnered national attention after winning back-to-back state championships. Coach Kenny Almond led the team to a #2 ranking in USA Today’s national high school poll. The team was runner up to the St. Vincent-St.Mary's squad led by youth star LeBron James."

Woodlawn was serious!

A bit of a shocker.

Woodlawn is led by 4* QB Ricky Collins (2023 class) who committed to Purdue a couple weeks ago.

Woodlawn always has talent and next year may be their year in 5A Public.

Yeeeeah....No.

Not giving Woodlawn any hype next season.  They gotta show me they can handle teams in their own district/area first.

That would be like me hyping up Ruston.  They BETTER beat West Monroe next week.  They have no excuse not to this season.

Just gonna chalk it up as an upset and we'll leave it at that.

😂😂😂

Thanks for the laugh.

I don't know what's so funny........Woodlawn just beat the best team in Louisiana and the #19 team in the nation..

I watched the game last night and Woodlawn has some Giants and Speed........I think Marcus Randle is probably better at Hail Mary's than coaching high school football though, but Woodlawn is a team to take seriously in the playoffs.

Florida has about 200 Woodlawns and 25 BR Catholics. You can find these teams on a quarter tank of gas anywhere in the state!!

I know, blockhead813!

No one takes it in the face better than you........we all know it.

Give Woodlawn the same love you give Jesuit Tampa.

What a joke!

Look at those big Woodlawn boys pull on that run last night vs Catholic.......nice looking running play.

Anyways, packing up the troops and headed to Curtis/Rummel game, first live game of the year for the RedZone clan. Curtis and Rummel are both 2 of the youngest teams in the City this year. We probably take a spanking. Rummel has won the last two meetings and the series is tied at 4.

Louisiana depth! I ripped that video myself, hope it works.

Speaking of...

I need to look at power ranking to get an idea of who plays who.

Same ole' Woodlawn.

and just so you know, Ruston will beat the snot out of West Monroe this week adding to the list... so far:

Catholic's first win over West Monroe ever

Neville's first win over West Monroe since 1995

Ouachita's first win over West Monroe since 1994

West Monroe's District 2-5A win streak ended at 100

Ruston wins and it's their first win over WM since 1990 and West Monroe's streak of District Championships ends at 27

And?

Catholic roughed up West Monroe this year. Catholic was suppose to blow Woodlawn out.

West Monroe beat Alexandria last year in the regular season then got beat by Alexandria in the playoffs by 2 TDs.

West Monroe really isn't in the conversation anyways.

But 1 game makes Woodlawn a threat in the playoffs though...

Like I said...

Ruston has zero excuses if they lose this game.  This is the weakest WM has been in a looooooong time.

Number 19? Lol. What a laugh. There are 200 plus BR Catholics all around the country
