We play the loser of the Marietta/Walton game this Friday night at Walton. Several gurus say this will be Marietta...but those same gurus are picking Houston to lose to Atlanta. So...there's that.... HawgGoneIt Posted November 1, 2021 Report Share Posted November 1, 2021 Personally, I think Marietta can beat Walton. That said, we'd get Walton at The Pen. As it stands, it's either or. Walton or Marietta. It felt like we barely escaped Marietta with our lives, and, it's really difficult to beat a team like that twice unless something major has changed like they lost a qb or something. To my knowledge they're the same team but more experienced. I think I'd almost rather see Walton. Of course, it's a little different when we get em in The Pen, no matter who it is. So bring em on! Hopefully the real defense like we had vs. Tift shows up and not that dollar store version we had at Lowndes or vs. Westlake. You know... the one that actually acts like they want to tackle someone. Hard to come from 18 points down to beat anybody. And you are correct...it's extremely difficult to beat a good team twice in the same year. Alas, It is whomever it is...but at least we got'em in the Pen. I went back a few years to see how we've done in the Pen and it looks like this... 2017 Lost to Tift at home (regular season) 2018 Won all home games 2019 Lost to Grayson (playoff game)...we don't lose playoff games at home very often. 2020 Won all home games 2021 Lost to Westlake (regular season)...the season is still in process.
