One of the reasons that they don't drop that much is that for the past 5+ years no one outside of themselves has been able to beat MD or SJB - and that includes a fairly sizable list of OOS opponents:

  • St. John's DC (x2)
  • Bishop Gorman, NV (x2)
  • Bergen Catholic, NJ
  • Mililani, HI (x2)
  • IMG Academy, "FL"
  • Centennial, AZ
  • SFA, "MD"
  • Liberty, NV (x2)
  • DeMatha, MD
  • Don Bosco Prep, NJ
  • OLGC, MD
  • Miami Central, FL
  • East St. Louis, IL
  • Oscar Smith, VA
  • Duncanville, TX

The pollsters will more than likely continue to give them the benefit of the doubt until they lose to someone other than themselves.

In the last 5 years, SJB has played these road OOS games.

  • Mililani
  • Oscar Smith
  • Liberty
  • St. John's
  • St. Thomas Aquinas

They lost one (St. Thomas Aquinas), almost lost another (St. John's) and who cares about the other three because they suck.

SJB gives a good impression of risk-taking program while hardly taking any risks whatsoever.

I'm sure SJB would welcome STA coming to CA to complete the home/home series. Or perhaps there is another AZ team STA could visit...

Sjb would go to Aquinas again. Well, I assume they would. I know for a fact Mater Dei would. IMO, that’s the matchup to be made, I know MD has reached out STA. Hopefully the game gets made.

The truth hurts doesn't it.

What truth is that? I would love to see STA travel to CA for a rematch with SJB. What's the inside scoop on the STA side? They chomping at the bit for a rematch?

Fake tough guy program yapping on Twitter but not backing it up with actions.

There's a lot of idiots on twitter including STA and SJB fans alike. I don't stand by any of them. Go look for strawmen elsewhere.

You know better than citing score comparisons. They mean nothing. Every week is different. Every team matches up differently. Team performances vary throughout the season.

We not only see Team A > Team B > Team C > Team A scenarios quite frequently, but also teams winning rematches all the time.

It’s fine to believe IMG is the better team, but not for the reason provided.

But does he?

The truth really digs deep.

The rigged system benefits you so you don't lose sleep.

Tell me something I don't know.

When you start bragging about losses that's when you know you've capitulated.

Teams SJB lost to the last time they played:

  • STA

You're overrated but, hey, you've always got Twitter flame wars to partake in!

2018 Lakeland would have given you a run for your money. And the 2017 STA team that beat SJB lost to Venice.

What this game shows is what many of us have noticed-that these SoCal powers often don't bother to develop true, elaborate rushing attacks- can and will come back to haunt them against top defenses, especially in the red zone. SJB could move it within the 20s, but once they got down in a condensed field, they couldn't run the ball when they needed to do so.
