Much to do with my inability to say no, we are going to Baton Rouge for the a&m game after thanksgiving.

While there we will probably be taking your alum, Jay Ward, along with BJ and a few others to dinner. If you have anything to pass along, or if you stay in touch with him, lemme know and I’ll handle it.

I don’t stay in touch with Jay but you can let him know how proud we are of him and how much we miss the brand of football his era of players played.

You got it.

Hea a good kid and has assimilated well to Baton Rouge. He is well liked and people are hoping he can continue to mature and improve. They love his instincts and fight, just wish he’d put weight on.

Some people have trouble with that. I am not one of them. 🤷‍♂️

Feed him some honey bun sammiches when you're over there. 😁

Tell him the Packer Dads volunteer crew are proud of him too. Glad he isn't squandering his opportunity and everything it took to get him there.

Will do.

You know, he was a last second add to the class. A few of us older Georgia Tigers kept asking for somebody to press him, but to not avail. After we lost a few kids they had rated above him, CR put the call in and it didn’t take much to sway him from kentucky (if I remember correctly). If LSU calls as a DB, and you have confidence in yourself to step up, you take the call. Jay did and the rest of history.

Hopefully in a year or two he will get drafted. If not, he should have his degree and he will always find love from his Bayou Bengal brethren. As long as he stays on the straight and narrow, LSU will take care of him.
