Who have Bergen Catholic and Westlake beaten to justify those rankings?  Another Lazy poll over emphazising W/L records.  Sad.  Putting Tier 2 teams ahead of Tier 1.

Also SFA lost to a team that lost to your #20 team.

Get Better

I think the poll is as good as one could expect .  Do I think the poll currently reflects the best teams at this time ? Not completely, but you do have to take into consideration losses . Servite, SJB both have 2 losses . Yet most assuredly I would take both teams in a landslide victory over a Bergin Catholic . BC is undefeated , so you have to have some type of protocol . Like I previously posted, right now SFA would be my pick against everyone, except MD . But they lost their opening game. Just exalt in Servite getting a chance to win State, an accomplishment no one thought possible a couple of years ago . I'll be rooting for you guys against MD . Servite winning would be good for the landscape of H.S. football

You obviously subscribe to the school of 14-0 Folsom with no Top 100 wins being ranked over teams with Top 50 wins but 1-2 losses from Top 10 teams.  By your logic strength of schedule  has no place in the protocol.

If Servite beats SJB and MD back to back in the semi's and finals, but has 2 losses to those teams, do you still hold the losses against them?

You have too . In 2009 , most people including you, totally underestimated Dela at season's end . Dela was in disarray when they played #1 DBP early on, as well as Lakeland . Two high level teams , yet Dela was playing them without a starting qb, just musical chairs . When they decided to go with the soph Bart Houston at qb , all the pieces fell into place. By year's end that was a top notch team . I would definitely,at that point in season, put Dela as a top five team, fulfilling their early season top 5 ranking . I don't remember , but I don't know if polls even had them in top 25 at season's end because of those two losses . Who cares at that point anyways . Dela won SBG Open over a terrific team and that holds more weight than any mythical title .  When considering Servite, they get the chance to replay both teams that beat them earlier . Most high ranked teams  never get that chance . If ( and it is a big if ) they beat MD, than Servite would be in position to win SBG Open, which like I said earlier, holds more weight than some mythical polls . Be satisfied !

You are missing the point entirely.  I'm concerned with integrity of polling/ranking teams.  I have a major problem with ranking unvetted teams in the Top 5.

How is he supposed to know what Tier these team are? The Tiers have been MIA for 2 months!

When there is evidence of the Mods doing their jobs and not looking the other way when Messageboard rules are flagrantly violated.  May re-start the Tiers on a probationary period.

Tier 1 - MD, Servite, SFA, SJB

Cen10 is in the discussion too

as an initial matter, it's hard to rank the top 100 out of 16k teams.  I should have posted this sooner, but why?:  Bosco h2h beat DPC, ranked 80 by you, with Bosco nowhere in a top 100???  what else?:  SPP beat DPC.  Bosco beat SPP by 14.  Joes and BC also beat SPP.

More:  In the playoffs, Holy Spirit was ranked in the low 20s in NJ, and went into their game against DPC at 6-6.  DPC was tied with HS at the half 14-14, and DPC was home.  Meanwhile, in the playoffs, Bosco beats the #4 team in NJ 17-0 away, and St As never gets insides Bosco's 20.

I get that DPC beat Joes early on (but again, Bosco h2h beats DPC with 50,000 penalties), and that DPC had a good win against SHP, which beat Bosco early on.  no signature win though.  but things changed over the initially clarity-devoid season, and I get why it's hard for non-NJ fans to pick up on that.  But no one in NJ would put DPC over Bosco this late in the season.  So, we have to wait to be proved right.

Now, yesterday, RBC, ranked 13 in NJ, beats DPC 13-8.  And if DPC were to play BC and St Johns the regular season, then DPC finishes with 5 loses, not 3, roughly speaking.  Not a great team, RBC lost to Donavan 28-7, and BC beats Donavan 35-7.  it was all there to see.

Who have Bergen Catholic and Westlake beaten to justify those rankings?  Another Lazy poll over emphazising W/L records.  Sad.  Putting Tier 2 teams ahead of Tier 1.

Also SFA lost to a team that lost to your #20 team.

Get Better

I agree.  BC is very good.  3???  they beat Hoban by 35, and Eds won by 15, for what that's worth.

MD, Servite, Cent, and SJP go ahead of BC.  SFA, too.  BC definitely top 10.
