I wish the kid all the best.

He's made a choice that might not be the best for him in certain respects, but he rated being part of the HBCU experience and raising its status as being important to him. That is incredibly altruistic and honorable.

Maybe he and Neon Deion will begin to lure more high-profile kids and maybe start an Alabama-like dynasty in the SWAC that gets more tv time and exposure, which could maybe spread to other HBCU programs.  Bigger visibility and more dollars for the schools. That would be pretty cool.

STFU…. Jesus, do you ever let up?

Pros know where the talent is.

Mother of God.

Happy for Travis, JSU, and all of SWAC football tbh. I think it’s a fantastic fit with Travis and Deion honestly. That was his idol. That’s his position (DB). He’s going to be explosive and used on both sides of the ball. Expect to see him get a ton of offensive touches too. He’s going to make a lot of money and win a lot of games. Travis Hunter would’ve succeeded and been a superstar anywhere in the country whether it’s Bama or JSU. Love that the kid bet on himself and bet on Deion and bet on JSU. I think it’s going to work out extremely well for him. He’s going to be a top 10 pick because that’s what kind of player he is. Special special talent.

Awesome post. Thanks for sharing that.

Plus they will have higher graduation rates due to history and culture.. And no one shouldn't support that.  I thought this would happen in Bball 1st.  They will play under coaches that really care about those kids.  Listen to Jerry Rice and Strahan talk about their experiences at HBCU Schools.

Howard U snagged a lottery type player last year.

It’s happening Gunny. How much, remains to be seen. TH certainly raised some eyebrows and awareness.

Yes.  But he never played for them.  He went overseas to play and develop.  Slowly, he would have been a big impact especially if they would have beaten some big boys.

Remember, this kid will be playing lesser competition. He may turn into a super stud or he may end up just being an afterthought. If he doesn’t turn into a great, great player at that level he can kiss being a high draft pick goodbye.

If he doesnt produce at an fcs school what makes you think hed produce at the p5 level?

if he was gonna be a bust he was gonna be a bust regardless of where he went. The competition is irrelevant

If you were the number one recruit in the nation you should dominate that level of football. If you don’t then you weren’t the #1 recruit…

That’s exactly my point. If hes gonna be a bust hes gonna be a bust at whatever level he goes. It will not affect him.

it’s irrelevant what competition he plays. It should not be used against him. He made a good decision, got his money and hes going somewhere where he will play right away on both sides of the ball.
