Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine Overview and Safety

  • Based on evidence from clinical trials, in people aged 18 years and older, the Moderna vaccine was 94.1% effective at preventing laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 infection in people who received two doses and had no evidence of being previously infected.
  • Evidence shows mRNA COVID-19 vaccines offer similar protection in real-world conditions as they have in clinical trial settings―reducing the risk of COVID-19, including severe illness, by 90% or more among people who are fully vaccinated.

Ok, I had covid and two Moderna shots. As of yesterday, Covid again. Also, 4 family members are covid p. They all had Moderna or pfizer. The shots are not very effective, clearly. And no boosters yet because none of us had reached the 6 month mark.

Time for you to admit you don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about and to just shut the fuck up. Because we don’t have enough data on any of this to have any solid conclusions on anything. We are flying by the seat of our pants and have been for over a year.

94% is not 100%.

Wait, you've had covid twice?  But, but, but what about natural immunity based on the antibodies built up during your first bout?  Guess that is not 100% either.

Once more for the kids in the back:  Vaccines, masks and other options are deterrent measures, not preventative.  There is no such thing as a preventative measure against Mother Nature.

Sorry the odds fell against you and yours.

That alone shows you the rate is not 94%. I literally know right now, more than 30 people who are positive. And everyone of them is vaccinated. So the statistics are fake. Clearly.

We are lucky this one wasn’t close to a final product when it leaked out of the Wuhan lab, which was of course supported and partially funded by the good ole USA.

@Rippers I doubt this has much to do with Mother Nature. More like deadly modifications to an existing virus. Even if the intentions may have been good (research?).

As was stated earlier, Omicron has thrown things into flux.  Virus's are going to virus, hope you feel better soon.

How are you feeling during round two compared to round one?

thanks. It still sucks, but I’m hoping it’s less severe. And that’s the thing, how do we know its omicron? When you get tested they don’t tell you what variant you have. Especially the rapid test. It’s  just a line under another line. Maybe if they do a DNA test on your sample if you’re hospitalized? Which leads me to believe that we have a pretty mixed infection rate of regular Covid, Delta, and omicron. There’s no way to know.

Which goes back to the point of this entire thread, which is that the government should be ramping up treatments and not worrying about vaccines. At least as much.

According to the Florida surgeon general, the federal government is actively suppressing antibody treatments for the state of Florida. I’m gonna enclose a letter from the surgeon general of Fl.

Updated Dec. 14, 2021

🤡

This marks your absolute low point on this forum. You posted data from TRIALS, completed in a different calendar year (2020). Those data will remain what they are forever, as those trials are complete. But, any random moron recognizes that neither Delta nor Omicron variants were around in 2020. Both variants are many times more transmissible than what was floating around during the trials. There's abundant information available detailing the waning effectiveness of the vaccines at preventing infection with Delta and Omicron. You have to realize this, which means you're the liar here.

You can take out the word "Mother" since Mother Nature is just a euphemism.  How about there are no preventative measures against nature?

And if it is a man-made virus, that would just be an example of man following his nature, if you believe the theories of some philosophers.

You did see "Updated Dec. 14, 2021" didn't you?  Pretty straightforward and without any signs of trickery.

You did see that I acknowledged that data from trials conducted in 2020 would always be exactly what it was, didn't you? Those numbers are from trials, before Delta or Omicron.

When you consider what he was responding to, which was a claim of outdated information, the response that it said "updated ..." at top of the linked page seems relevant and not a low point at all.

IMHO.

The information is, by definition, outdated. It is from clinical trials conducted well over a year ago, prior to the emergence of either Delta or Omicron. That someone updated the web page it is on doesn't have anything to do with the results of those clinical trials. Those results will remain precisely what they were, forever.

But, one does not need to seek out any special data to draw the conclusion that the vaccines now do very little to prevent infection: A year ago, we had zero members of the public vaccinated. Now, more than sixty (60) percent of the population is fully vaccinated. The result: A higher case rate NOW than at any other point in the pandemic.

YES, people are MUCH more able to be protected against severe disease and death. And, YES, that is significant. NO, that does not change anything I said above.

Exactly. Plus those trials were conducted for only a few months. We now know that the vaccines effectiveness severely tapers after six months.

Interestingly, I haven't seen data showing Memory B and T cell protection all fades. Those don't prevent infection, but fight off the virus swiftly and efficiently once it opens the door. That is significant. Also significant is that Omicron evades antibodies. Put all of it together, and the case for "boosters" to combat Omicron is decidedly weak, despite what the sound bytes shared in the media suggest.

Classic case of the facts changing drastically and people failing or flat refusing to change their minds. It was long assumed that vaccinated people almost entirely blocked transmission of the virus. In that case, the argument for vaccine mandates was straightforward. Now that we observe massive transmission rates among the vaccinated, there is absolutely zero rationale for having a mandate. It seems literally no one is able/willing to adjust their views on the matter in light of what we've learned with Delta and Omicron.

No, you're just an idiot with incredibly stupid instincts.

This is the equivalent of saying that seatbelts aren't very effective because people get injured and/or die in car accidents.

If you want a reason why this pandemic has raged as long as it has then look at this post. There's your answer.

It's never surprising when the dumbest people keep making the dumbest claims.

Yet this dumb fuck claims that there's no data.

The lack of logical reasoning and self-awareness in these jokers is staggering.

The same people who are skeptical of vaccines are gung ho about every magical elixir. From Hydroxychloroquine to Ivermectin to Monoclonal Antibodies.

None of them are proven to be as effective and available as vaccines.

They also deny the effectiveness of the vaccines (proven) while making large claims about natural immunity (scattershot).

If the vaccine isn't 100%? = doesn't work!

When natural immunity and magical elixirs aren't 100%? Crickets.
