Reason #1 why you can't take star ratings and recruiting services serious.

Florida has 252 3*, 4*, and 5* prospects this year. This class will produce 30 or so NFL draft picks in 7 total rounds.......that's NOT good!

You want to wager on it?

Same thing with Texas and California......and California has had a couple terrible drafts recently.

The math is terrible.....

Justin Jefferson was 2* at Rivals...he might be the best WR in the NFL...

It's all bullshit, like the people who try to rank high school teams.

Don't get me wrong. I like when LSU gets a 5*, but even they bust. I've seen it too much.

It's not.

You just don't like the results for whatever biased reason.

Again, the numbers are ironclad. Rivals blue chip recruits made up over half (53%) of the First Round picks in the most recent NFL Draft despite only making up 10% of FBS scholarship players.

You can't counter these facts. They are unassailable.

I doubt much has changed, but I guess you could try to find something.

https://saturdaytradition.com/big-ten-football/breaking-down-the-255-nfl-draft-picks-by-star-recruiting-rankings/

Following the conclusion of the 2020 NFL Draft, 247Sports looked back at where each player selected ranked as a high school recruit. Three-star players made up the largest portion of picks in this year’s draft, followed by four-star recruits. Former five-star players made up the lowest total.

Here’s the breakdown by stars, according to 247Sports.com:

  • Five-star: 19
  • Four-star: 73
  • Three-star: 110
  • Two-star: 32
  • Not Ranked: 21

There are more 3-star players then there are 4-stars and 5-stars combined.

The fact that you are having trouble understanding ratios is a 'you' problem.

There are only about ~30 5-star players in any one recruiting class.

Which means that in any given draft there might be ~75 draft eligible 5-stars.

25% of them got drafted in the above example.

Your post is stupid and shows a fundamental ignorance of ratios.

You said 3* prospects are not blue chips....they own the NFLl draft and always have.

Get out of there, man!

People laugh at 3* prospects, I guess.

I don't,

By the way, here's an example of RedZone "laughing" at 3-star prospects.

You don't send almost 40 players to the NFL from a roster of 2*s, 3*s and depth players.

Sell that to one of the kids here....

STA currently has no 4*s and NO top players in Florida per the recruiting sites. It looks odd to me and everyone else. You say it's happened plenty of times, but can't a name a year.

Let it go...

Which proves that for every RedZone post there's another post where he totally contradicts himself.

My post was 100% accurate....why are you struggling with it?

STA got almost 20  transfers this year.....you don't send 40 players to the NFL with what STA had at the begginning of this year.

Atticus whiffs badly....

Watching RedZone squirm and try to whitewash what he said in real time is quite something.

If STA had every year what they had at the beginning of this year they would have produced 15 NFL players. lol

Sheesh!

I love this dude!

He tries very hard though. I'll give him that.
