Poor exchanges (4x100) did the American's in. Anybody know why they got lane 3 in the final despite having the fastest time in the prelims ?  It's not an excuse, but 4,5, or 6 would have been better.

Didn't understand that either.  Women had the same

The women's 200m record falls tomorrow.

The Jamaicans have not made the podium since Bolt retired.  Just as I predicted then.   He just ate up every anchor leg in the world often getting the baton in 3rd or 4th place.  That's why I knew they would be this.  And they have nothing coming to catch up.  Japan DQing helped them make the finals.

Just saw the mens.   that last baton trade by US killed them.   You WILL NOT chase Degrasse down period.

What did I say bout dem Rasta Boys. 😄.  Our girls are a model for Diversity.  2 chocolates and 2 snow bunnies showed da hell out.  Prandini ran that curve like a damn boss.  So proud of them.  The dudes are just cursed it seems.

Until I see something else : Lane Determination

In “lane” races (all distances up to and including the 800m run and the 1,600m relay), World Athletics employs the following procedures:

  1. For the first round, lanes are assigned randomly; advancement to the next round will follow a previously published method. (The top 2 [or 3] from each heat plus the next 4 fastest runners, as an example.). The advancing runners are then organized by place (fastest first-place/heat winner, second-fastest heat winner, third-fastest heat winner…, fastest second-place winner, second-fastest second-place finisher, through all of the places, then the fastest time qualifier, second-fastest time qualifier, etc. The system always prioritizes place finish over time, so it is possible that the time qualifiers will have faster times than the runners advanced from a heat. The time qualifiers will still have the last spots.
  2. The qualifiers will then be seeded using a serpentine format that places the qualifiers into the next round of races working back and forth until all of the qualifiers are in groups of eight.
  3. The athletes with the four best times draw for lanes 3, 4, 5, and 6 [if the tack has eight lanes], the next two best times will draw for lanes 7 and 8, and the final two qualifiers will draw for lanes 1 and 2. [Note: In almost all cases, the ‘drawing’ is done by a computer.]
  4. The final step for any round (other than the finals) is the draw among the heats to determine the order of the races. Because there are almost always time qualifiers in addition to place qualifiers, knowing what is the “time to beat” [especially in a race that is more than a full sprint like the 100m] is an advantage. That advantage should be awarded randomly.

Other considerations including avoiding having athletes from the same team or nation or team in the same races. However, shifting athletes between races is done after the application of the seeding rules.

For individual races of 800m or longer, the initial performance list position is kept, with finishing position discounted in favor of time. A person’s position on the performance list changes if s/he achieves a better time during one of the rounds than the best mark prior to the competition.

@golfaddict1 Guy I discovered getting love from Total Running Productions

247sports showed South Carolina days ago, but his last trip scheduled before deciding is certainly in play.  Oregon may also land Pleasant, who is a blue chip db recruit.

Red Oak is smoking and T&F just starting.  Dville Finishes 3rd in own meet in 4x100.  FBM is well being FBM.  Leading the state who already has blazing times.  I can't wait for the Texas Relays.  When Texas smokes FL, CA, and whoever else shows up.  Just like last year.  Want to know how this relates to our football.  Look at DVille.  Notice the 2nd Leg on the A team.  Hell their B team finished 8th.
