RedZone
Camrn Banks is a good sized kid too. The Catholic Bears should be the D1 favorites this year again.

I just want to see them play the best competition possible and hate that Curtis doesn't want to play... glad Catholic and Scotlandville don't deprive the fans

I agree, I'm one of those fans... but I have to believe not playing hurts JC way more than it punishes WM... we will probably make more off the game with East Ascension than we would off John Curtis. EA will bring way more fans but hey, now JC only has to travel 60 miles instead of 260 and they still have a quality game so good for them

And John Curtis has probably taking more trips than anyone in the state. Zachary voted to END the split. I just don't know why West Monroe is so against ending it. It seems like to me if West Monroe wants to play the best teams in the state every year you include the playoffs not just a couple games at West Monroe Rebel Stadium. Right or wrong JT Curtis made a statement. It remains to be seen how many schools follow his lead and what future John Curtis football schedule look like. Anyways, EA is a good team some years. They always pass the eye test getting off the bus.

He has a small school mentality (he's from Oak Grove) and you know most of the small schools are for the split
Frosty4024
Is there a source that shows who voted for/against the split?

The little schools will probably never get back together....just the way that is with them.

Captain Shreve??? Really??? Split was the best thing that happened to 1-5A and Captain Shreve is against it??? Oh the irony 🤣
Frosty4024
Without the split...Evangel would still be poaching players from them. Without the split...the likes of Parkway and Haughton wouldn't see State Runner-up/Semifinal apparences. Why go back to playing teams that would 1-and-done them? Makes no sense from a financial standpoint.

So definitely not like West Monroe was single handedly responsible for keeping the split going since over twice as many voted to maintain as to end... Still don't quite understand the Holier than thou approach by Curtis but hey, we can agree to disagree... oh wait, I guess no we can't 🤣
