The LBs were faster that year on the edges(Foster and Anderson), but that's about it They ran the ball with Henry right down your throat that year. Lately, they've gone to a spread but that's a sign of the times with the NFL. Their offense has changed to a spread like every other teams because of the NFL and the rules No it's not. He's getting the best players annually. Until he does that with non top 10 recruiting classes in back to back years it's not impressive for him to beat everyone with the best players. Let me ask you this, how impressive is Mater Dei and SJB to you? And you still don’t get it. Might as well talk to the wall. The bolded is really as far as I need to read, because the personnel have absolutely changed top to bottom on defense. It would be obvious if you followed the team but clearly you don’t. Post reeks of woeful ignorance.

ChimpGrip
There was nobody like Minkah Fitzpatrick, Tim Williams, Johnathan Allen, etc on the 2009-2012 teams.

maxchoboian
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? It can be argued that Saban has dominated the recruiting game due to his proven ability to develop players over the course of his career. Young players see that and want to be a part of such a system. He became head coach at Michigan State in '95. After numerous non-winning seasons, they wanted a change. He came in and took them to 3 straight bowl games. In '98 he beat #1 Ohio State in Columbus. in '99 he beat Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Notre Dame, winning more games and reaching a higher ranking than any team at State since '65-'66. He went to LSU (they obviously needed a change) and in '01 won the SEC championship. In '03 he won the national championship for LSU. We all know about the record-setting run at Alabama. He's as good of a coach as we've seen, no question about it.

No, but you did comment that they stack talent which makes it easy for them to win against a LT(Not playing on a level field). That's pretty much Alabama right now. There's only 1 or 2 teams that can match the talent that Alabama has annually and none have their depth NIL will change that

Maybe, but in 2008 he had one national championship and was one year removed from his shameful dolphin exit. 2008 was his first number 1 recruiting class. There was a guy in Gainesville that was the top guy in college football at the time
RedZone
Saban must be doing something right...... one of those things is clearly consistency. 2022-drafted, not counting UDFA's yet. LSU has passed Ohio St and are only 4 behind Gump. Alabama is obviously not the only team with developed players, but they seem to win more national championships though. Say what you will. Add 7 for Alabama Add 6 for Ohio State Add 10 for LSU. Want to know where your school ranks heading into the 2021 season? Check out the full list of FBS schools with active NFL players below. FBS SCHOOL PLAYERS Alabama 53 Ohio State 47 LSU 46 Georgia 35 Notre Dame 34 Clemson 33 Iowa 33 Florida 32 Michigan 32 Oklahoma

LSU with 10 drafted last year off a 6-7 team is pretty telling...... probably why we were only a play or two away from beating Alabama. Alabama sure didn't look like they had more talent than we did and we were playing second and third stringers.....and freshman Just wasn't meant to be for the LSU Tiger in 2021. RedZone
Alabama won't out talent LSU in 2022 either. But the Gump System is in place and it's been in place...... it's a real no brainer on why they succeed. LSU is on yet another coach. Enter Brian "the man" Kelly And then there's luck. Yes, he used a $30 Million dollar collective and promised recruits each X amount of $ to come and play for them. Jimbo also denied using the collective in an interview around signing day for whatever reason. Again, that’s not cheating and Saban didn’t call him a cheater. Saban’s just saying he didn’t use a cash collective to sign any players. Did you see fishers response? Dude flipped out, full melt down. Everybody has been giving benefits to recruits prior to NIL, that’s not a secret. Nobody’s hands are clean in the SEC or at any major program. I think this move by Saban was to get his donors on board with what’s going on. A&m is hungry to win so the donors went all in, Alabama needs to do the same in order to stay on top. If Alabama has the collective in play and guarantees money to these kids + they get to play for Saban, they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
