This simply isn't true either. I've never bragged on Evangel or John Curtis winning small school state championships. Evangel Christian played a 1A schedule in 2006 and they weren't very good. It's no real secret. The state tried to bust them up. The same thing will eventually happen in california with mater haze and sjb. It's coming, some kind of change will occur. The point remains. Evangel has been on the decline for some time now and they still played OOS games. They have had a couple good teams the last 15 or so years, but nothing like the glory years. John Curtis has a system in place. They will always be highly competitive playing old fashioned football. Curtis could win the Catholic League this year.
