181pl
Mater Dei- win out and it’s academic. Still, would love to see them play outside Cali in a bowl. Miami Central- In best position other than MD. Needs a SJB upset of MD and an open bowl win against a power. After last night, I’d favor BG, MD, and maybe SJB over them head to head and that’s why IMO they’d have to prove it in an open bowl. STA- Need to mop up 3M impressively. Their side of the bracket is cake but may face a test in Edgewater or Jesuit but those will likely end up as routes. Needs chance against a top dog in post season bowl, needs MD and Central to lose. Chaminade- Don’t see it happening unless MD, STA, MC all lose and they play and beat a Bishop Gorman caliber team handily in open bowl. but I don’t see this as possible. SJB- Blow out MD and the weak N Cal team in Cali open bowl and theres a chance. But they’d have no better argument than BG, especially if BG plays and routes a great team in a bowl. Bishop Gorman- See above. Would greatly benefit from post season bowl win against a southern power. Georgia and Texas on the outside looking in for now. Westlake and Colquitt are intriguing. But probably not realistic. IMG and SFA are done. IMG lost to team well in front of them in polls and sfa was living on borrowed time. Seen enough of these “teams” until next year. Uber talented all star squads that are simply not very interesting to watch.

ATLien12x
It’s Mater Dei-St John Bosco every year and has been forever. This shouldn’t surprise anyone anymore. It’s back to being all about state championships and a potential top 25 ranking which is the main goal is for most teams. Miami Central was losing in the 4th quarter last week to a 6-5 MNW team. They are not in the chase for No. 1. It’s always coming down to MD/SJB. Their October game doesn’t matter. MC will finish as the best public though

OldTerrapin
With the SJB v MD game being pretty much regarded as the fake national championship game, if I was a betting man I would bet GEICO/ESPN saves the air travel and splits the games east coast west coast again. BG will play either a AZ or UT champ out that way and GA champ vs FL champ played in GA or FL. That way better chance of fans and more players on the team being able to go. Has there even been anything announced for the GEICO exhibition games for this year? dates or anything?

weakness that’s hard to cure is the nat’l playoff boost. UT just finished and thus maxes out on the boost, with Lehi enjoying a top 10 placement for just this week likely. I’d like to see CP do a top 10 or 25 season minus the playoff boost entirely to compare to the one with the boost.
