If this was allowed, which it was… my guess is the VAR showed the goal scorer onsides from the back pass. The defender must have caught his line. It’s hard to see the rush on the first German who touched the ball vs the pass initiated. He may very well have been onsides. But again, it’s a tough angle to really see it imo. The view is crystal clear. You have to go with what you can see when the view is clear. Sure it is agonizingly close, but you can see it clearly. You see, well > there's the Ball (of course), a gigantic field and a humongous goal. The object is to run around for 3 days and put the "ball" into the humongous "goal" using your foot or head.
