An Idea for the Corky Kell in 2018

Recommended Posts

I know HSFB starts this week for us.

But the Corky Kell needs some serious Spice added in.

Its the same teams every year and damn near the same matchups.

Didnt Tucker and Kell play last year?

The goal of the CKC is to showcase GA HSFB. But it may be time to consider adding in an OOS team.

I know that each school is obligated to sell a certain amount of tickets so that could make it difficult for OOS schools.

Which is why I propose we invite Hoover and Allen(Might be a stretch with Allen).

Allen travels well regardless as does Hoover.

If I remember correct HooverOutlaw stated that they took 10K fans to Texas...  if they can do that with Texas then I know they could do better than  that with Atlanta.

Again this is just a thought but I know Im not alone in my opinion.

This would also bring in ESPN.

My proposed Matchups:

Hoover vs Mceachern

Allen vs Colquitt County

Buford vs Valdosta

Tucker vs Norcross

Carollton vs Brookwood

Hillgrove vs North Gwinnett

First of all....the goal is NOT to showcase Ga HSFB.  The Corky Kell Classic is a Charity Fund Raiser for the Corky Kell Foundation.  The biggest thing wrong with the CKC in its current form is trying to play football in August in the hottest part of the day in an open stadium.  It is not conducive to great attendance.  Holding the games inside in an enviromentally controlled atmosphere works pretty well.  I just don't see adding OOS teams to the CKC.

No way a Texas power will travel that far OOS (except, maybe, Trinity). I could see Hoover making the trip, though.

And then as soon as Hoover gets added to the event (hypothetically), you're gonna have some of these guys on here complaining about Georgia playing the same team from a bordering state.

And we all know Texas ain't travelling.

Funny thing is CA is the biggest  hypocrite.

Complain about us playing Hoover as a Staple. But the second you bring up OOS opponents with them. BG is their go to opponent.

2000 -2400 to Allen. We took a lot folks to Camden Colquitt and South Panola.

I think with a chance to play in the dome Hoover could bring 4000 plus maybe 5000.

The reason Hoover plays Georgia is nobody from Alabama wants any part of the Colquitts and Graysons of the world.

WELL, we DID play one of Rush's ole assistants when he coached at Enterprise! And we BITCH SLAPPED um both times! Ditto when we beat Carver Montgomery when THEY were supposedly good!

South Carolina, also.  Byrnes went to DLS.  Turned out to be the start of a bad run for the Rebels with coach (Bobby Bentley) headed to Auburn, the former HC at Spartanburg, and Bentley's son off with the family to Auburn taking their planned QB out of the mix.

Florida, Ohio, Texas, Arizona, Alabama, South Carolina, played New Jersey in Ireland, New York, Maryland, Illinois, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, add Louisiana & Virginia this year, & Colorado are all states GA has visited or hosted the last 10 years.

Of course the Arizona game was played in Texas though.

These are GHSA teams only... no GISA.

Oh yeah, and California back in '10 (Crenshaw), and this year (Vista Murrieta).
