Need to replace some key guys on both of the lines. The cast of skill players are some of the best in the state. Projection: 5A Semifinals... 2018 may be the year of the Wildcat.. Nolebull813
Maybe Mooch can bring in a top oos team for them. They were begging to play Pensacola Tate in 15 and 16 but the coach bitched out because the game was gonna have to be week 11 and he didn't want to travel to NO the week before the playoffs. So they are definitely up to the idea of playing oos

Frosty4024
Darkhorse??? I thought (or would think) they'd be one of the favorites??? Health and decision making (They panicked against O.P. Walker by abandoning the run early) are the keys in my opinion. The skill guys are set and seasoned (experienced). All they gotta do is replace some guys in the trenches (important...but it's Desty...they're capable). I agree with you 100% on this one...But I wouldn't exactly call them a Darkhorse... That would be Zachary imo. and Acadiana has a red X on them if they meet again...

Alabama is a dark horse national title contender. 😵

So I see his point....That and Desty does slack off when they get leads...
TheRealCAJ
Destrehan doesn't exactly play in the toughest district in the state. Other than Hahnville and East St John it's pretty damn weak most years. It's hurts them come playoff time, I believe. Destrehan did schedule Jesuit (NOLA) Week 8 this year. When Destrehan ruled Louisiana in 2007 and 2008 (30 game win streak) they were just that good/talented...it did not matter.
TheRealCAJ
Destrehan's highest national ranking was 2007 and 2008 #18 both years at Maxpreps. 2007 http://www.tennprepdb.com/maxprepsrankings.aspx?Season=2007 2008 http://www.tennprepdb.com/maxprepsrankings.aspx?Season=2008
TheRealCAJ
Only Louisiana can have a #438 team nationally like Destrehan with this kind of skill. 2* QB-Kohen Granier (FCS Nicholls State commit) 4* RB-John Emery (LSU, Alabama, Georgia)-2019 2* RB Kristian Mosley (FCS Southern commit) 4* WR Quinton Torbor (Auburn, Georgia, etc)-2019 3* WR Michael Young (Notre Dame commit) 3* WR Justin Jefferson (LSU commit) Links available upon request. I would supply them, but mooch is a real nobody. NJ has to go OOS to see that kind of firepower........ Freakin unreal........
