My thoughts exactly. The GHSA could use some pointers. Respect for the LHSAA.

The FHSAA is laughing at the Louisiana association right now. They are like "those stupid fools busting their ass tracking down recruiting violations. They should sit around and collect dues like us!!" "The yacht doesn't store itself!!!"

But then you'll see a rise in privates and open enrollment schools.

Thats a risk I am willing to take. Although I don't think that would occur unless those teams withdrew from the GHSA. Private, open enrollment, or not, they could easily make the rules the same for all participants of the GHSA.

Woodward Academy,Benedictine,Marist and GAC would become more prominent and rise in class.

Not if they were forced to play by the same rules as everyone else.

The reason I say that is because you'd see this happen:

1. Kids especially star athletes. You make it harder to transfer to public schools. But theres a catch to Public to Private transfers.  Privates require payment or money of some sort.

Now throw in the athletics. Now you're running into the same issues CA,NJ and FL have... the Private school can extend financial aid to these athletes.  And the GHSA can't tell a school or a student that they cant give them money or financial aid. So theres loophole #1 but thats not all. Other kids now wanna follow their peers. The private schools dont say no. So they accept them.

The GHSA investigates. But the same issue/loophole is now bugger than the GHSA. Because even if they do recruit the said athletes.  They cant do anything because they're not inelligible.

Marist and Woodward Academy for example. You can live anywhere in Tge Atlanta Metro and attend those schools as long as you have reliable transportation and make good grades.

So now the GHSA is blocked from doing squat because this kid isnt doing anything wrong by the schools rules and the GHSA cant do anything because they have no concrete evidence that he was recruited.

Simple fix.

No student athlete may receive financial compensation from the institution that all other students do not receive. The school must then choose to provide ALL students equal financial payment, and risk going broke or they offer no assistance at all.

If they want to skirt the rules with "academic scholarships" then the student, athlete or not must take an entrance exam and score high enough. If they do, then thats awesome. Let them attend and play.

Then the GHSA would in a sense be overstepping its boundaries...

Almost every private school in the state predates the GHSA by atleast 100 years. And they have set standards. The GHSA would be met with fierce opposition.
