Biggest Winners/Losers

Winners:

BG: train just keeps rolling .... win streak continues. Now at 55 games.

*Trinity: escapes by a point against warren central .... prob will run the table now.

Bingham: shows who's top dog in Utah. Last year's hypothetical matchup with East was a fun conversation but bingham would of won.

STA: hate to include them but they won the toughest game on their schedule. Should finish undefeated.

State of Georgia: handled business tonight ... were favorites in their games but got it done.

Corona centennial: and they keep scoring points and more points despite underperforming in 7 on 7s.

Losers:

East Utah: utter face plant after the build up.

Dematha: RB got injured early and that was big but too many drops and blown assignments on D in second half.

Sjb coaching: poor play calling esp the 4th down play in OT .... what was that? Tough flight home. If Mitchell Broke one in regulation with his legs that would of won the game but the STA D answered the bell every single time.

The state of NJ: can we play some real football soon!?

Nuetral:

mater dei: pretty vanilla performance against bishop Amat. BG will be different animal. Still one of best teams in the country.

Sjb: still an elite team (top 10) ... can't drop them to much for losing to STA in OT in Florida. Just like STA losing to BG in OT last year in Vegas.

Pretty accurate assessment. The only thing I might change ( or add ) would be to keep both STA and SJB in the top 5 for the time being.

Agree on BG & Bingham

STA wasn't a pretty win but a win is a win.

Props to GA.

Corona won that game before they even kicked off. I can appreciate Pitt trying to schedule up but they are not ready to swim in the deep end of the pool.

Biggest loser tonite was East They thought they were ready for prime time but not this yr.

2nd biggest loser SJB they had their chances and couldn't put it in the end zone in 4+ qtrs. They drop to 9-10

DeMatha tough nut to crack in Vegas they drop to 13-15

well done. I only saw it in real time, but if Re-al doesn't pitch that ball does he get around the end and take it in?

From Camara angle was tough to tell ....

But I don't like taking the ball out of his hands in that spot. Dance with the date that brought you there ....

like in that carter 30 for 30 on 4th down in playoff game the qb was going to throw to armstead with a cast on his hand for game winning td. Armstead was the one who was going to win it or lose It for them. Re al should of had ball in his hands on 4th down .... mistake by negro.

Totally agree. I'm going to go back and watch it, but I felt like the defense had bit on the first fake and containment was lost on the near side. That's why when the receiver was coming back the other way he was met by STA defenders because they were already flowing that direction.

I don't think tv Camara gave us good angle I'm going to check again tomorrow.

maybe someone there in stands has better assessment?

I just re-watched. I think they still would have had Re-Al. That STA defense was just really good. Fast and smart.

A fake pitch with option to pass or run for re al was the play call. Maybe get the D shifting wrong way on fake pitch to WR. Maybe a DB loses his assignment covering someone ??

I wouldn't take either them out of the top 5. But some polls will overreact early next week and drop sjb out of top 10. Two elite defenses they can both conceivably run the table.

Dematha screwed up, because Delmarva football is a frickin JOKE! If those clowns didn't recruit the shit outta four states! They couldn't beat our JV!

No knock on STA but what does it say about their schedule when after 1 stinking game we are already taking about running the table?

With their history vs the real Bosco one would think the would not run the table in the BNU. Just an observation.

Let's see how the DFB vs SJR game goes...

also just a fyi that hit by DLS on the STA receiver was not flagged (the vid I shared, forgot to reply to you about that).

Regardless, it was a great game. Great effort from the kids. 3-3 tie to end the game. Who says Cali doesn't play defense.

Best two defenses I saw yesterday IMO.   Didn't really see a weakness in either.  SJB a bit beefier/stronger, STA a bit faster.   Both great all around IMO.   I'm confident the offenses come around.

Yes I remember. Sure looked like targeting which I think is worst rule in football.

Looked nasty live.  I was scared at first.  Helmet on helmet is quite a sound and impact as you know well.

The WR who made a superb catch in that game Mark Barr (also the guy who muffed the punt vs DBP deep around their 5 yard line or so) was a cincy commit and was involved in a tragic auto accident with other recruits his freshman season   One football player died.   Barr was in bad shape for awhile; but he returned to school at Cincy.

If Los comes back and reads this would be nice to know if he graduated yet or is close to. Hope he's doing OK.
