golfaddict1
So much for enjoying the Heat 10 pt lead thru 3. I didn’t read specifics. Just that 9 injured and in the hospital. Hopefully none are life threatening issues.

Mix of adults and kids shot as a result of what appears to be an altercation between two groups. One person of interest detained, with one other on the loose. golfaddict1
@Slotback Right I was talking with a local friend yesterday about the shootings and how fortunate there were no fatalities (9 hit last I read). We speculated the bullets were likely .22’s, but I was thinking divine intervention perhaps played a larger role. I’m trying/open to your way. This was a win.
Slotback Right
@golfaddict1 A friend of mine was a railroad engineer pulling into town on a curved 10 mph section of track. That section is next to a 40 foot high, nearly vertical dirt cliff. It seems that several hours earlier, in the dark of night, a drug deal went bad, and a man was shot in the head, and thrown off the cliff, and he landed between the rails of the track. My engineer friend, coming around the corner, saw the man laying between the rails, and tried to stop in time, but even at 10 mph the heavy train rolled over the man. The engineer leaned way over and saw the man's coat underneath the locomotive. While on the radio reporting the incident, he again looked down and saw the coat move. Despite being shot in the head, thrown down a cliff, landing on a railroad track, and getting run over by a train, the man was still alive. It seems that as the locomotive rolled over him, some part of the sander in front of the wheels snagged his coat, just enough to turn the guy away from death. The engineer who is (or maybe WAS an atheist), struggled with the thought that the man shouldn't be alive, and yet he was. How? Why? Was it Divine Intervention? He visited the man in the hospital, and he was doing well.

Divine intervention is super duper awesome. It’s the much more frequent lack of intervention that kinda sucks. Maybe the divine only work a few days a year, though. Old thread I know, but here's a dark fun fact for you. In 1979, 16 year old Brenda Spencer opened fire on a school across from her house, killing the principle and a custodian, injuring 8 children and a police officer. When asked why she did it, the 16 year old shooter replied "I don't like Mondays." That school shooting was the grim inspiration for this song that came out later that year. What was once shocking is now commonplace...

I sense the sarcasm, but the very concept of divine intervention depends on its being much more infrequent. You can't have divine intervention without law-like regularity in nature; and you can't have law-like regularity in nature with frequent intervention.
