I have had direct tv for 24 years. I'm done with them.  95% of the channels I do not watch. Outside of sports and local news and older shows on free streaming services like roku,  etc that's all I watch. Thinking of going with youtube several people I know have it and like it any advice?

What ever service it must have ESPNs and the SEC network.

Thanks

Cut the cord.

Go Sling and use an antenna for locals.

$55.00 a month and add Sports Extra for $11.00 a month.

$66.00 plus internet and you are done.

I’m not an expert by any means but I haven’t had cable in about eight years. Highly recommend getting an Apple TV and running it all from there, though. I pay for Netflix, HBO, Hulu, ESPN+, Apple TV, and a couple more. Then the last couple football seasons I’ve subscribed to fuboTV, which has also been great. They have tons of tv channels so might be worth looking into anyway, but I only use it for the games. You can throw up to 4 up on the screen at the same time and change the audio or full screen back and forth with ease.

I use a local service called Cody Cable. It's basically a jail broke firestick that the Cody company maintains the programming for me so I'm not constantly going online looking for codes.

25 bucks per month. Costs about 180 to get started but that includes a new firestick and I think 2 months of service. Additional sticks cost the same but the monthly fee is 20 instead of 25.

You get everything. I mean basically everything.

I went from over 120 bucks per month for Dish Network to 45 per month and that covers my moms home too. I only need one stick at my house. I can move it if I decide to watch in the bedroom or whatever.

Literally added my mom in and installed hers at a whole different home.

When I say I get everything... Multi-picture screen. NFL plan. I can watch 6 games at once. NBA the same. MLB the same. Soccer the same. Hockey. Etc.

All the HBOs, Showtimes, etc etc.

On Demand movies. The newest releases. Sometimes while still on at theaters.

UFC ppv. WWE ppv. Etc.

Bally Sports. Fox Sports. Espn plus. All the espns reg. I can switch to east, west etc. High Def.

I mean literally everything.

How local?

If I wanted to search for something like that in central Indiana, what would I punch into Google, "jailbreak firestick programming" or something like that?

Can you DVR?  Or do you have a separate component for this?
Can you pause live and rewind/fwd while viewing?

My cable box has been down and I’ve been streaming various apps, including Comcast/Xfinity (cable provider).  I can’t pause live or fwd/rewind using the app (with box you can), but I can dvr using the Comcast/Xfinity steaming app.

I have no idea. I guess theres a chance you can google Cody Store and they may ship. Idk.

I do get several local stations, or, I can choose to watch your major network locals most likely.

I thought it couldnt be legal in the beginning. I've been with them two years. They advertise publicly. Even set up at Valdosta High School football games at times.

Even if it is illegal, I feel like I bought it and paid for it through a legitimate business so I should be buffered to an extent.

I do know people that jail break their own, and then scour the internet for codes etc. to keep the channels and programming they want. I just prefer the buffer of Cody Cable and I don't have to worry about constantly updating codes.

I don't have dvr capabilities. This is only a problem on live tv stuff like games or series that arent available on the stations sister streaming platforms, which is shrinking a lot these days.
