I know its technically stout season and all that, but, I love my IPAs and Lagers so... I looked around in my fridge and found a Henhouse Brewing Company IPA (Incredible Pale Ale) from Sonoma County California. This one has a tropical type backbone. It actually reminds me of a beer I seek out down in Daytona when I'm down for the races. Tr- Hop- ical from Ormond Brewing Company. Makes me wonder if there is some connection with brewers or something. I think the hops may be a little different in this Henhouse brew but the flavor is so similar. Very good IPA ringing in at 6.9%. No palm trees or ocean views in the back ground, but, something just as good... My Nike Packer flex bill cap. Haha! "Incredible" pale ale .....haha love it
HawgGoneIt 17,309
Well, it isn't a game day, but, it somehow feels like a nice evening to finish off with a beer. I have a really nice lager that I wish I'd have poured into a glass now that I've knocked back half of it. Very heady brew. That seems to be a nice theme with the west coast beers I've had the pleasure of trying. The Russian River beers and now this Iron Ox lager all have similar high carbonation. Gives them a unique mouth feel and a little froth on your mustache assuming you have one. I definitely like this one. I feel like Goldilocks but... This beer is not too bitter and not too smooth, its just right. Its not too heavy and not too light, its just right. Its not too high gravity and not too low gravity... yep, you guessed it, its just right. It lives up to its name as well. It does seem just tropical enough to have tropical in the name. A light fruity flavor on the front end, finishing smooth and fresh. After you swallow and then sit for a moment and let the finish develop, the bitterness of the hops finally show up about the time you're ready to give up and go for the next drink. Pretty sure I broke their rules as written on the can. Don't think, just drink. With that, I'm gonna knock the second half of it back. 🍻
Cossacks 4,881
Damn just cracked this and I am really impressed. Very indicative of a west coast IPA with some citra hops. But not bitter at all, which I prefer in a IPA. Really easy to drink. One good beer a night and then it’s onto shit/silver bullets, that’s my new rule 😂.

Was playing poker and using my phone to watch the UFC fights I did have one of these last night though. Cherry chocolate cheesecake milkshake IPA 😂. Sounds ridiculous but is very tasty and not too sweet. And the can art is pretty awesome too.

SIP was lifted this morning, just went out to eat and had a Modelo. I just got a jumpstart on it a few days ago in Arizona and it was inside not outside, which is where we are at.

Hopefully I can still score one. Was really glad to hear about Cali today for ya'lls sake. Crazy what you guys are dealing with out there. Oh well, thats OT. Good to be seeing an ice cold beer in a glass on a bar top! 1
MA Fan 673
Tame can design by Adroit Theory standards but also a tame sessionable beer by their Triple Hazy Imperial IPA standards. Brewery in Purcellville VA has an excellent metal soundtrack, I recommend lunch at Market Burger beforehand.

Here's my first drink tonight....pretty good... though I must admit, I'm not a fan of the Nitro.
Coletrain06 1,956
Can't go wrong with Untitled Art. This beer is really really good. Sweet and thick . Not quite syrupy but close....and because it's Bananas Foster, the thickness is perfect
Cossacks 4,881
Been working my ass off, haven’t been hitting the suds the past week. Treated myself to this nice IPA tonight.
HawgGoneIt 17,309
I've hit on a few brews since my last confession. Went down to the coast fishing and caught a monster, then caught a monster buzz. Brought a few home to try, so without further adieu... The monster and the brews. Blurry because my bud's phone had some water on the lens or something, but, you get the gist. Then stopped off at a cool little spot and picked up some Oyster City Brews. Had 3 of these which was really one more than I should have before leaving... The mango came through nicely to make a pretty balanced ipa but it was a little higher gravity and sneaky with it due to the balance. The Tates Hell National Forest is the namesake for this really fine helles lager. It was by far my favorite beer from the grab. Then tonight I've cracked open their plain Apalach IPA which I think was in their original lineup. It's pretty standard for an IPA. Not too crazy on the bitter, but definitely citrus flavors come front and center. A tad higher gravity also. If any of you guys are ever down to visit the Apalachicola area which was once an Oyster togging grounds but as the fishing and Oyster harvesting died away, it has become a quaint touristy area with shopping, seafood joints, bars and a brewery. Definitely a neat little spot for folks not necessarily looking for the beach but enjoying the water, watching boats come and go and food. Anyway, definitely give the Mangrove and Tates Helles a try.
Cossacks 4,881
Just knocked open this skunky 420 strain 😂. This is pretty good and not too heavy with 6% ABV, which I can enjoy. Lagunitas Waldos edition packs way more of a punch (think it’s twice the ABV) and I’m one and done with those. This I could sit down and enjoy 2 or 3. And the skunky strain! Ah yes, @imaGoodBoyNowbrings me back to the mid 80’s smoking out of a crushed beer can with a needle to poke small holes on one side and a screw driver for the thumb hole on the others. Oh yes and the urban legend that you had to preheat both those spots to get the carbons from the paint off prior to smoking. #Mcgyver 2

Here's a little bit from Cali.... A little bitter on the coffee/chocolate taste but a pretty good beer overall. Much better than I expected, considering it was among the cheapest 16 oz beers at the store
