*Not attempting to rank every team, only the ones we discuss on this site.

*Tiers based on how teams are playing today.  Not based on week 1 games etc.

*Tier 1 teams can compete with any other Tier 1teams and possibly win 1+ of 10

*Basically there is a -10 point drop between tiers.  Could vary from 7 to 21 depending on the styles of teams playing.

*Texas teams generally have not played enough games to gauge properly yet

*Tiers are based on exhaustive research, Multiple games watched, and good gut feelings.

*This is a crowd sourced rating. All input will be considered and adjustments will be made as appropriate

They are correct.  There can be anywhere between a 7 point and 21 point separation between tiers. Also Chaminade is playing better than OLU right now.

There isn't a two tier separation between OLU and Chaminade. Head to head, I'd take Chaminade by 10.

I'd also move MV up to 3 and SM up to 4. SM gave MD a much better game than BC (tier 3).

JSerra also might be a stretch at 3.

I watched JSerra.  They are very good.  I see your point about SM and BC tho.  Have  reevaluated and adjusted the teams you mentioned

I love this idea and giving me some ideas for doing this for Florida but i don't think lowndes should be teir 2

I'm thinking teir 4 or 5 because until they play a good team i don't think they have proven themselves to be that high,  especially with some of the teams below them

Agreed.  Lowndes dropped to tier 3.  Georgia is tough to rank cuz their top teams don't play OOS (outside of Buford)

I think you are really lagging on Colquitt. They are likely a tier three team at this time.

You have DeMatha in tier three and they would not whip Colquitt by multiple scores at all. I don't think they could even beat Colquitt for that matter, but this is your show so I'll let you turn the crank.

Is this true?

I'm not trying to make trouble, and I haven't seen CC play this year, but I thought they lost recently to a fairly pedestrian team.

What's the case for thinking that they are a tier three team?

This is a better way to rank teams, that is, by tiers.

I wish more of our people would spend time ranking teams in this way rather than in the standard 1-n model.

I'm only going by Sammy's criteria that each tier would lose to the next up by 10. That means he thinks the likes of Cocoa would even score 10 on Colquitt as they're a tier above. Then according to the same criteria, Buford would put a 20 point whoopin' on Colquitt. Y'all done lost your minds if you think that.

Archer vs. Colquitt would be a barn burner at this point in the season. Certainly Colquitt wouldn't be a 20 point dog to Buford.

Etc. etc.

The tiers would also make for great playoff matchups.  To see who could win their tier.

A tier 3 team may get blown out of their playoffs by a tier 1 team, but the tier 3 team should not necessarily end up being ranked below an undefeated tier 4 or 5 team

I don't intend to have someone add up point differentials between tiers, although a tier 1 team is capable of beating a tier 5 team by 45.

The better way is to only compare 1 tier up or down.  For example, I would argue that Mission Viejo would beat Colquitt by 10

I already blew through the tier above Colquitt. Joke stuff man.

Another damn lie... Just ask Rab if this would happen!

And that's a damn lie too, but, whatever.

Colquits County problem is only beating Norcross by 3 points, the same margin as Parkview beat them.  A loss to an unranked team,  and an inexplicable struggle are anchors holding them down.  Other Tier 5 teams have better credentials too.
