I find this interesting that the Commander-in-Chief in his pontificating about patriotism didn't understand the significance of military retreat and sat and talked during the ceremony.

Why interesting? He isn't a military man.  Hopefully he'll be informed about it and follow standards of decorum in the future.

This is hardly comparable to knowingly and purposely disrespecting the flag and country.

Maybe a navy corpse-man can instruct him.

He's the commander in chief on a military installation. He very much disrespected the troops and the military on his ignorance alone and ego thinking it's being played for him.

You dont know if he ever was briefed on protocol previously or not, what we do have on tape though is his behavior.  That's is not disputable.

What I find even funnier is the cognitive dissonance going on in the crowd as they are a part of retreat daily and know protocol, but in that moment follow the lead of POTUS and fail to render proper respect.

I posted this bc I knew folks would cape for him and his buffoonery.

Robin williams is not in the military, but look at his response under similar circumstances.

His people should be working double time informing him about standards of decorum in all kinds of situations, not just military. Unless, of course, this is another instance of our president being his own self, not being from the swamp and all. Just wing it, and either refreshingly say screw everyone else, or blame the media for making it up, or whatever adolescent excuse we are to be fed again. I think the decorum tutors for the president is the best option.

Horsefly,

You are permitted your take on it in this great land.

My take is that I am far from shocked that you (and/or your liberal pals on here) would look to this ans jump on it like a bunch of horny monkeys trying to fuck a football.

I'm sure ChipUselessRacist and DBP will be along with their usual keen insights and "likes".

Carry on. Have fun.

Again, perhaps a navy corpse-man could provide assistance.

Disrespecting the troops? Sort of like not saluting a Marine? I don't recall your outrage then? Im sure you will find a way to defend the many times Obama disrespected the troops.

Did you feel the same under Obama? Did you ever say anything?

Can we talk about the here and now?  Do you have a comment on THIS clip?  It's relevant bc of his rant about patriotism and respecting the military.

Not returning a salute as a standard of customs and courtesies is dishonorable whether intentional or not.  Do you honestly think I defend those that dishonor the military?  You obviously don't know me too well....lol

How about seeing if a pattern develops or it becomes a clear intention rather than error of omission.

Naaahhhh... it's Trump. Right?

Of course here and now. That is all you libs want to do. No we cant. You cant keep fucking up letting time pass then say lets talk about now. Obama fucked up too, oh well shit happens. Trump cant take a shit without you libs crying about something.

As for the salute I sure you were offended that was not the question. The question was did you pitch a bitch then? I don't recall you doing so. In fact Canes and I got into one of your replies then was Obama was not a Military man. That you were not defending him but he was not a military man and did come back to salute the Marine. Point is you seem to always find a way to give Obama a pass.

On the backdrop of his great patriotism and respect for military I find it laughable that during one of the most routine and consistent ceremonies done on EVERY military installation, as CiNC he had no clue what to do or what it meant.  Reveille, retreat and taps are so consistent you can set your clock by them 24/7, 365 days a week. For those brief moments almost an entire installation will come to a stop.

i don't need to wait on anything, my opinion of him was formed years ago.

Again you can always give Obama a pass but never Trump
