Rufus69
Well...the first round kinda went as expected. Lowndes and Colquitt won. Barely...but they won. So now we go to Round 2 this coming Friday night. We'll start off with the End of the World contest in Moultrie at the HawgPen. For the first time...in a LONG time...Tift comes in as the favorite. That was hard to type. But...it's Gospel. The Dastardly Devils are an offensive machine. They can frigging score. They have this All World WR...who could probably start at Georgia right now and a downright gunslinger at QB. Devil Air is potent. Don't get me wrong...they can run the ball with a massive O-Line and a couple of RBs...but their "go to" offense of choice is throwing the ball. Preferably...DEEP. Mo Dixon and Dextra Polite are gonna have their hands full in Round 2. Now...after watching the Packer offense...up close and personal...let me just say...we cannot afford to get too far behind. We hafta keep it close. Exactly the opposite of what happened up at Brookwood. Colquitt has pretty much established itself as a running team in 2017. We simply aren't efficient throwing the ball. Too many factors for me to explain...why not. It's a simple premise in my book. Colquitt has to control the ball on the ground. We hafta limit Tift's opportunities to score on offense. The lower the score...the better chance we have at winning. With that said...if the Blue Devils put up 38 points...like they did against Lowndes...they will win. More than likely...if they put up 30 points...they have the advantage. If we can hold them to 24-28 points...we have a legitimate shot at victory. Like I said...Coach Dixon and Coach Polite will have their hands full Friday night. Lime Sink/BNB will predict a winner later in the week. So stay tuned. Over in Kingsland...the Norsemen of Norman Drive will invade Gilman with confidence and pillage in their hearts. Buddha Bless The BlueCats. Camden has some decent athletes...but when somebody questioned their S&C program over there...I think they were spot on. The BlueCats simply will NOT be able to hold up to the Viking onslaught. In other words...Lowndes will stomp a mudhole in Camden. A MUDHOLE !!! You hear that Camden? Prove me wrong. Lowndes has the best team they've had in 10-15 years. All the people who wanted to fire Randy Mac a couple of years ago...are now his BESTEST friend...(Smile). Some of them are even paying for his "beverages" out at Kinderlou. So goes high school football. Lowndes will put up 50 points...unless they play their JV. Camden will put up....a fight for a while. I'm thinking they get a FG...or two. But you gurus hear this...Bullet Bob is taking it on the chin this season...but hold on to your shorts...cause Camden is coming back. You can bank on it. May be a year. May be two. But Bob Sphire was the best hire they could have made. And Rush knows it...(Smile). So...once we make it thru Round 2...and the dust has settled....we'll get to the Final Countdown...cause somebody is staying home for the Dance. And it ain't over till it's over. Rufus>> I had the pleasure of talking to coach Sphire recently and he believes it'll take 3 years. This program really got run into the ground when Herron left.
