The perfect example of hyping high school football teams and making them seem larger than life..... and trying to rank them.

The fact of the matter is that perception-preconceived notions- are significantly more important to fans than on-field results. People genuinely believe they know better than the results on the field.

You mean like last years Gorman- Chaminade game? Where you've come up with a million excuses of why they were blown out?

No. The way that game, and the reaction to it figures in, is in the way people make assumptions about the 2023 teams based on the result of a game in a different season. You're happy to rank 2023 BG over 2023 Chaminade because you think you know how the game would go based on a different season.

I've heard every excuse about last years blowout loss from you though

 Centra Catholic and Calvary Christian

Maybe those 2 teams beating BP was a fluke...... ever think about it like that.

Of course in the sports where we can pick and choose what we want to be a fluke and what's not a fluke.

Back to back fluke wins by BP is pretty impressive though.

Just because it's a fluke doesn't mean they have to give the trophy back. They won. Nobody is trying to rob them of their moment. We're just trying to be accurate.

We know that you only care about this because Berkeley Prep smashed Newman two years ago.

If Homestead could kick extra point range field goals he wouldn't be on this site until August of next year.

A total clown

Was does that have to do with BP winning back-to-back fluke games against supposedly national powers.....oh yeah, not a damn thing.

For the record Newman wasn't that great in 2021. They had 3 losses that year. Be better than nobob813.

LOSSES: #203 Berkeley Prep (Tampa, FL) (49-24), #478 St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA) (12-7), #544 Lafayette Christian Academy (Lafayette, LA) (49-7)

Yeah, neither was Berkeley Prep. We've been over this. You're just insecure about it.

Style of play is key here. No one Norland played (ok, I admit, I don't know about Bolles) ran the kind of offense BP did. BP had coaches and players who believed in and were committed to the scheme. Even when they were stopped 3 and out on the first possession, they knew they were going to keep at it. Most players these days don't want to have to face the power run every single play. They want to nuke the backfield for a loss of yards once or twice and be done with it. Usually, now, offenses oblige. But, when they don't, and they've got a big line and good backs, the defense is in for a long day.

Had a close loss to 13-1 CCC in the first game of they year. In the second game, Plant had them on the ropes and they came back with TDs late to pull away 31-24. They got on a roll after this with a close loss to Calvary that they avenged in the playoffs.  I suspect if they played now, BP would defeat CCC the way Golden and Trouple have come on. They avenged the Calvary loss, which was close  like the CCC loss. But that's just speculation.

This shows you how ridulous Chamindae was this year. I think they are without question the class of Florida. Right now I'd probably go:

1. Chaminade

2. Columbus/STA

3. STA/Columbus

Of the rest, I'd like Berekely's chances. Mandarin's too.
