Should be a good game. I'd favor the Wood. Better running game and quicker defense. But Plant should be in this one for the most part.

Armwood is very talented on offense. Plant will have to contain RB's Brian Snead (Ohio St. commit) and RB/WR Jerome Ford (Bama offer). Also, QB Devin Black (USF offer) can be terror with his arm and feet. They also have 4 star receiver Warren Thompson (6'5 Oregon commit). Plant counters defensively with DE Judge Culpepper (Penn St.) and LB Micah McFadden (Indiana).

Plant will start Jordan McCloud at QB (USF commit), and they have a decent corp of RBs in Brandon Brooks, Alex Carvajal, and Leo Parker. They have some speed on the edge with WR's Romello Walters and Romain Mungin. Armwood's D is led by DE Oregon commit Malcom Lamar and LBs Ricardo Watson (Jr. with Oregon and USF offers) and James Miler (Sr. with Louisville offer).

Of course both coaching staffs have a ton of experience in big games. Even though this is Evan Davis' first year as a HC, he's been on staff forever at Armwood and the remainder of the staff is intact. Bob Weiner is heading into his 14th season at Plant.

Plant does historically bad on offense at Armwood. Since 2007, they've scored:

2007-

7-26 L Regular Season loss

7-36 L Playoff loss

2009-

17-7 Plant win (Plant was 5A state champions this year; had Wilder)

2011-

0-21 Regular Season Loss (both teams won state titles on the field that year in different classes Plant 8A; Wood 6a; Armwood's was later vacated)

2013-

No Game Between the Schools

2015-

3-21 Regular Season loss

This is why I favor Wood.

I have a feeling Plant comes through.

Completely a-typical result for Plant at Armwood. Plant implodes by throwing 2 ints on good drives in Armwood territory that both should have resulted in points. Threw when they didn't even need to be throwing the ball. They were having success running and throwing short passes. So that cost them 10 points. And then the big plays. Armwood has some very elite athletes like Brian Sneed and Jerome Ford and they made the Plant defense pay for missed tackles and soft coverage. Armwood is the better team. But not 20 points better.

When Armwood beats Plant they win with their D line and a few big plays from their superior athletes. And that’s exactly what happened last night. 10 sacks and 2 +60 yard scoring plays. Yes Plant left maybe 10 points off the board is true. But, Armwood left Atleast 20 points off the board themselves. Ford dropped a wide open post in the end zone, had 1st and goal at the 7 and a bad shot gun snap caused them to lose 25 yards, they also missed and extra point and a short field goal. Armwood was clearly better this year. Plant usually keeps this game close with great coaching and very disciplined play. They don’t beat themselves. This year Armwood has far superior skill players and it showed.

Are you an Armwood guy?

They play Brandon this week in a mismatch game. But isn't Brandon their true rival? I know competitively Plant is their rival but I heard Armwood used to have maroon in their uniforms as an homage to Brandon. I haven't noticed it. Did they do away with it or is it hidden somewhere? Lol

Exactly. Plant wasn't winning this game last night. IF the game was played at Plant it probably would have been much closer, but Wood is superior this year in all phases.

RB'S don't mean SHIT! DOMINATE the O and D lines, and you'll be GOLDEN!
