badrouter
Pardon me if this has been covered, but, did the "experts" decide that the prevailing narrative of this game would be that it was impressive for the winners, and an innocuous loss for the losers? Or did they decide that it would be bad for the losers and fairly meaningless for the winner? This sort of thing should be disclosed before the game is played, since it is almost always decided before a down is played. So, good win for IMG? Or bad loss for BC?

Also, if MD wins next week - best win ever. If they lose - fluke.

I'm simply asking what the "experts" decided prior to kickoff. Is it a good win for the winners? Or a bad loss for the losers? Will the primary impact on rankings be to move IMG up and leave BC mostly untouched? Or will the impact be to leave IMG alone and drop BC? It seems IMG has been anointed as an "untouchable". So, I'm betting BC moves up or stays the same in the rankings.

We can be sure the loser will remain, at worst, in the national top 5. No matter what, including if the game ends with a score of 16-8. 😂
HurricaneNick
49 minutes ago, SeaShells21 said: Also, Texas’ fate is kind of hanging in DeSoto’s hands right now. They are the top dog, by not only beating the absolute mess out of Duncanville 49-35, but doing it the same year Duncanville went on to beat the absolute mess out of a North Shore team 49-33 who destroyed the Atascocita team 61-35 that blew out the East St. Louis team 43-13 who managed to beat St. Frances Academy 13-7. DeSoto also broke so many 6A records for any 6A state championship game beating Summer Creek 74-14; who North Shore only toppled 31-21 in the regular season. . . . And with St. Frances Academy being the last oos team to beat DeSoto 47-7 the year prior on the first year DeSoto won state of their [back-2-back] championships. [Thankfully Duncanville beat them just as bad that year too 41-17] I think you can understand why they both need to put to rest any doubt for the state’s sake, reputation wise 😅 I think it’ll need to be a string of wins against some of the countries best. Also, it doesn’t really matter. I can’t speak for Texas but after MD lost last year everyone called them overrated. They won state and that game was still on the W/L record, but it didn’t matter bc you ended the season with a ring on your finger. I hardly know coach Samples, but if that 2021 DV team had gone on to win state, he wouldn’t have given a shit about getting blown out by MD. You want to win all your games of course, but the “national” reputation is simply overrated and exacerbated by mouth breathers online.

Personally, I want to watch a game before judging the teams, but most here seem to disagree. I'm simply asking what the "Experts" decided prior to kickoff. I think it’s a good win for IMG on the road against NJ’s best. It was BC’s first game and it appears they had a respectable performance, especially on the defensive side. Both are worthy of a top 25 ranking. (Don’t worry Badrouter, Lakeland and MC are worthy as well).

Mickeybern
one thing is for certain going forward, every team that IMG plays will look to run it down their throats. Their run D is the main weakness

There's no way they're following your above advice.

Crusader12-0
The Crusaders drop to #23 but look at who got added? Their next opponent, Washington of Massillon, OH drops in at #24! Bergen will play there this Friday at 7pm.
100_100
Massillon will have to limit their penalties to have a chance at winning. Week 1: 18, Week 2: 14. D-Line is young, one senior with 4 sophomores rotating. With this being the home opener and coming off a state championship, I would assume a pretty good sized crowd. Most likely 10-12k, think we had about 10k for the home opener against Valdosta last year.
