It sure is a grinding stretch to the playoffs.   Liberty, Casteel, Basha, Perry and Hamilton are all teams that could beat them.  Am I crazy for starting to take note of Brophy Prep?

Brophy's senior class has a solid enough collection of D1 guys and the junior class has a bunch of kids with NFL studs for dads (Fitzgerald, Sharper, Vandenbosch) so they're definitely a player. Getting Basha next week is huge and really a win-win for Brophy if they hang tough. Ranking strictly off of results this season they're a top three team in the state.

Agree! I do kind of like what Perry is doing this year, kinda my dark horse.

Ortiz is doing a good job and Snyders kid will be a very high level QB prospect in 2 years.

Three of their first four opponents are undefeated thus far, with the fourth having one loss by a single score. Centennial's started three freshman at receiver due to the state transfer rule and has had a key injury at d-tackle that should be muted when the 15 transfers become eligible. Even with all of that the margin against Highland was a short scoop-and-score on a sack when QB's arm was in motion, and against Salpointe it was two field goals of over 50-yards by their kicker (or Centennial's kicker missing two 35-yarders, his first misses of the year).

Theoretically the transfers shift things in a positive direction. Coaches also made a change at quarterback in the second half of the Salpointe game and so far, so good. Could be the start of a great second half comeback, or the whole thing could go down in flames.

An update on this - Centennial clinging to a 10-7 lead over Saguaro where the only reason we have a lead is that Saguaro fumbled a kickoff on their one.

Going down in flames was generous. We're approaching shit show territory.
