Legacy SSS, TX @ Massillon, OH

Interested to see how these guys do.  A kind of mixed bag a bit so far.  They need a statement win to get some more attention.  Them and other charter schools in Texas may find things a bit more difficult depending on how the UIL decides to treat Faith Family.

Interesting, no doubt.

Massillon is Top 5 in Ohio.

Legacy SSS is definitely not quite there with the organization/coaching, but they are bringing some players to Ohio. They may hit on a couple big plays.

They're probably going to fall pretty hard though. That said they can't do any worse than some of these other teams running around claiming to be "National" and playing the best to be the best. 😂

Legacy is a charter school founded by an ex NFL player.

They don't seem to be getting any better or worse over these past few years. They probably pull most of their talent from the Spring area. Time will tell if they can step it up a bit from where they are right now.

Like I said, just another one of those janky, charter-school, IMG-wannabe programs.   A “school” in name only.

Perfect for sleazy Joe and PGL.

Isn’t Legacy SSS just another one of those janky new charter-school athletics mills?  Not a surprise with sleazy Joe and PGL.

Not quite.
Legacy SSS actually has a campus and a website that you can visit.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone sending their kids there for academics or sports but they are at least more real Bishop Sycamore.

I've looked at the school a little and think it could be a cool place if they get it going.  They focus on sports related careers, coaching, sports medicine/etc.  I could see how that might be attractive to athletes.

Think I've posted this before, but here is there "about" section.

The first school in the state of Texas that focuses on the professions within athletics.

Legacy is a thematic learning environment, tied together with project-based learning, which has created a curriculum focused on specific areas: athletic administration, coaching, sports media and marketing, and sports medicine.

Students see and learn about the connection between education, athletics, science, and business. This learning style enhances the student’s ability to explore and solve real-world problems.

Our Vision...

The mission of Legacy is to provide a rigorous, well-balanced college preparatory program that focuses on educational experiences through the use of a thematic, work-based curriculum for academics, athletics, and professions within athletics.

The founding board members, administration, and staff fulfill the school’s mission by upholding to the vision, which is to educate and inspire gifted and talented students through their interest in careers in athletics, such as athletic administration, coaching, sports media and marketing, and sports medicine.  Our intention is to use the professions within the athletic industry to inspire each student to perform at a level leading to successful matriculation at a four-year institution, or post-secondary training, culminating in a rewarding career in sports business or sports STEM.

The purpose is to create a model of education that is relevant to all Legacy students.

Legacy has College Credit Program options that are designed to provide students with an opportunity to earn either an associate degree or up to 60 college credit hours paired with a high school diploma.

Students are trained and coached by former collegiate and professional athletes in addition to learning about the professions in sports, all while building an extensive network of athletic industry experts.

That's a bit higher than I would guess at this point.  I think they can get a little better but will need some sort of big change to get to be much better.  Some sort of loosening of the PAPF or some big money and they decide to go to a more national type schedule.  Don't see either as being likely, but also no reason why they can't be happy being the equivalent of a ~top 10 4A team.  That's not a bad thing to be at all.
