Nah Buford don't want to be apart of that stale event!!! It's the same shit over and over and over.

If they don't get more South Georgia teams in it then it might be curtains!

FIRST of ALL, Buford is already IN, and has been for two years! SECONDLY, as long as MAC and da Brook are able to fill out five games among eight locals and theirownselfs, the event will NEVER end!

I agree with NoleBull to an extent. From a national level viewing audience, the match-ups are just musical chairs from a few different teams and does get tired after a while. No wonder there are problems holding t.v. contracts for it.

From an in-state viewpoint, it certainly gives us all an idea of how the season may shape up for certain teams.

And you know Rush is gonna accept when Dave Hunter asks.  Now in 2018....IF the CK is gonna actually be played in the new Benz....it will be a treat for our guys and gals.  So it's hard to show disdain for Colquitt accepting the game with McEachern.  But I really wanted to drop the Corky and open in the HawgPen against somebody like STA or even a BIG TIME New Jersey team....(Smile).  It wouldn't cost us any more than it would going to the Benz...and we would pack the Pen with a large crowd.  Alas, it is what it is....

A BIG TIME Jersey team? I doubt VERY seriously, if the Giants have the balls to come South!

You don't understand the purpose of the Kell.  It is first and foremost a fundraiser.  As such they don't care that much about a national presence. It comes down to who will commit to the not so small financial commitment to participate.  There aren't that many South Ga teams that have the financial wherewithal to be able to sign on that dotted line.

Lowndes does...

You've never once invited them to the event...

I'm not sure how much you are crediting me with but I have no input into the selection process.  How do you know they haven't been invited?  Maybe they have turned it down in the past.  After all, to hear the Colquitt supports on here and GAVSV it is nothing but a major money pit for them.

Well there is certainly no financial benefit in it for the programs who participate. The northern schools have less of a burden do to no travel costs.

If we scheduled a home game we would not only save on the travel expenses, but also profit from the ticket sales. We only do it to be charitable, as do the other teams.

In FLA, we need a opening weekend at the Trop. NoleBull813, work on this idea. Take the best projected teams from greater West Central FLA and match them up. There are some great names to work with. 4 games. 2 Fri and 2 Sat  (Fri 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM; Sat. 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM). Rotate annually. One team from each of the 4 main areas.

Sar/Manatee Area-

Manatee

Braden River

Venice

Sarasota Riverview/Palmetto

Polk:

Lakeland

Lake Gibson

Kathleen/Winter Haven/Bartow

Hillsborough:

Armwood

Plant

Jefferson/Hillsborough

Tech/Jesuit

Pinellas:

East Lake

Lakewood

Largo

Clearwater/CCC/St. Pete/Counryside

Is East Lake good?

All BS aside not trying to start anything... but I thought they where bad... given how much NB sandbags them...

They played 0-5 Ware County HS(Waycross,GA) and lost 37-9...

I think east lake was like 3-2 or 4-2 I cant remember...

NINE games are scheduled, with ONE SOWEGA team involved! Marietta-Rome and Ridgeland-Calhoun at Barron Stadium on Thursday! Buford-Tucker and Archer-Milton at Ga.St.U. on Friday! Kell-East Coweta, Brookwood-North Gwinnett, McEachern-Colquitt, Norcross-Mays, and Mill Creek-Walton, and Mercedes Benz Stadium, on Saturday!

Just because one team from South Ga is attending does not mean they were the only team invited.

There just aren't many teams down here to begin with and even less that are interested. Colquitt is fortunate and are able to operate despite the loss of revenue. I'd be willing to bet that many of the teams down here would have to spend the majority of their budget just to participate in the event.

There isn't some grand conspiracy to exclude south Georgia teams from playing in the CKC.
