… haven’t seen someone get murdered broad daylight and every one rejoice , since the titan sub, unfortunately my thoughts and prayers are out of network

I just realized that even the very *first* sentence in this thread, from a right-wing loon, mentioned how *everyone* was rejoicing.

Yet, badrouter bombs in with his pre-written hot take that the "left" is to blame for it.

A chef's kiss moment for somebody who was already a Hall of Fame level flunky.

Both sides have had ample time to fix this and neither side has addressed the main problem.  Ironically, the murder has finally amplified the real issue with healthcare and its not just the United Health Care CEO to blame.  He is a victim here.

The problem is not lack of affordable healthcare.  The ACA, while making it easier and more affordable to get coverage, offers crappy plans that reimburse hospitals at less than Medicare rates (which usually run in the neighborhood of 30 cents on the dollar).  The end result is that most medical systems are not in network with them, which is oxymoronic to having that coverage.

United Health Care, and the companies they own, among them Optum, are well known in the industry to almost automatically deny most claims, forcing healthcare organizations into costly appeals which usually end up with the organizations celebrating any payment they get.  I cannot tell you how many meetings I have been in on where the business office is bragging that they were able to get UHC to pay $50,000 on a legitimate $500,000 claim.  Instances like this are why you are seeing less and less stand alone hospitals and more mergers into large corporations (think Kaiser).

Health care reform does mean making health care more affordable.  But to do that, the payers need to be held accountable to deliver on their contracted terms.  This will help stop healthcare organizations, especially non profits, from raising their prices simply in order to meet their budgets.  And that is just the tip of the iceberg.

It's its not just UHC guilty of this.

I can't bring myself to click through thirty (30) notifications to respond to every single allegation or insult on offer here. I did skim the replies.

A few points:

- Mangione coming from privilege is NOT a reason to diminish or question his adherence to extremist ideology and/or hatred for rich people. A FAR MORE significant predictive factor is his extensive academic resume from "elite" institutions. I know some refuse to acknowledge claims that these academic institutions engage in indoctrination in radical ideology. But this refusal does nothing to demonstrate that said indoctrination isn't happening. Case in point being the batshit crazy "activism" we've seen on elite college campuses- overrun with kids from privileged backgrounds- in the year plus since the October 7, 2023 attack on music festival attendees in Israel. Thousands of kids- a great many coming from privilege and attending highly exclusive institutions- engaged in bizarre behavior such as breaking into and occupying campus buildings; blocking large swaths of campuses; blocking the mobility of Jewish students, etc. There is ABUNDANT evidence of widespread, frankly insane, indoctrination in these institutions. And there is abundant evidence these efforts at indoctrination have been highly effective. See the poll FreeBird shared above. And see the many polls showing a large number of young people oppose capitalism, like this one

- I suspect @Atticus Finch and I don't actually disagree nearly as much as he insists. We've been arguing about football for probably 20 years, so it just comes naturally. lol

- It is impossible for me to "prove" I am not a "right wing loon". As such a characterization is entirely subjective and able to applied to whomever one pleases. I recently argued with someone on social media who claimed the Democrat party is a "far right" party. To this person, if you believe in private property, market based economies and having both police and jails, you are "far right". Arguing with such people is a waste of time.

A campaign for random murders of people you do not know, but figure you don't like how they run their business?

What dipshits such as yourself miss is that this SAME rationale can be turned on ANYONE, including, trigger warning: yourself. Perhaps we'll see a bunch of murders of people who block roads to protest shit. Perhaps we'll see Mangione supporters gunned down outside of courthouses? Of course, you lack the intellectual capacity to anticipate such things...

You don't have to suspect.

If you actually read anything instead of immediately running to your safe spaces then you never would've step on this rake.

What are my 'safe spaces'? Genuinely curious 😍

That’s where in his world

Without being able to debate on topic

making silly 💩up, and desperately failing to project that on others

ps: funniest part is when he acts like that is #winning  😂

Btw: someone should ask that Ai pic generator for some idiot chef kissing himself while he steps on his own rake …would be very fitting 🤣
