Funny how the parents of top recruits always find a way to get the perfect job in the zone of a school who thrives and survives from top flight transfers

Funny how you once again display a total lack of the job and housing markets in Georgia.

It’s ok that players transfer into top programs for athletic reasons Lol

Milton has good academics and good athletics.  They are catching national attention.  I've certainly never heard of the two Wisconsin programs the players are leaving.  As long as they make a bona fide mover according to the GHSA constitution, what's the problem?

I believe 96 is the only one with a problem over transferring. It’s only high school sports at the end of the day and it’s very weird that some adults want to punish kids for transferring in to better programs/schools.

The suburbs north of Atlanta have been booming for most of this century. Places like Alpharetta have exploded in popularity for companies relocating, Atlanta residents escaping the chaos of city life, and those coming from elsewhere. The schools north of the city are generally very highly rated. We can be sure Milton High has received new students who moved to attend the school and couldn't care less about football. Buford has their own school district -since outlawed in Georgia- that is in such high demand that families living outside of the zone sometimes PAY TUITION...to attend a public school. Milton High may have the same, though it is in the much larger Fulton county district which already covers most of the area anyway.

People should be free to seek out the best opportunities they can find. And these types of moves from hundreds of miles or several states away should speak volumes. The transfers aren't happening at the rate they are because some rogue coach is slipping a player dollar bills under the table. They're happening primarily because families are trying to find the best opportunities for their kids.

Now hold up...

Alpharetta is the 3rd fastest growing area in metro Atlanta and top 8 in the nation...

You gotta know where in GA is popping off right now...

Atlanta,Savannah,Warner Robins,St.Marys and Valdosta are booming right now.

Thanks to my Job I get to work all over the state of GA and FL...

And @HooverOutlaw hit the nail on the head... in about another 5 years Atlanta is gonna be 75% of the state population and a good 30% of Alabamas...

Columbus,GA Metro is already eating a good portion of Middle Eastern Alabama as part of its Metro... Augusta is doing the same to South Carolina...

Yall gotta keep up...

Georgia right now is in the top 3 fastest growing states...

That's been going on since the 80's

Because  in the grand scheme of things Georgia is one of the last bastions of affordability.

The southeast in general is relatively speaking "Affordable" depending on where you're trying to go.

And despite Atlanta being on track to kick Houston to the curb real soon in terms of Metro size...

People are also starting to realize that there's more to Georgia than Atlanta...

Savannah is sprawling and booming...

St.Mary,s,GA-Camden County is almost a different city/area entirely than what it was 5 years ago.

Valdosta is growing Southward and eventually will cross the GA-FL line before 2028 especially with the Moody Air Force  Military Base getting approved for expansion and renovation.

I'm sure just like any big city with all the crime and lawlessness that places in the state like Blueridge will see a lot more growth as well . That area may be one of the most affordable, yet not so far out in the boon docks, that  there is in country.  An hour and 45 minutes outside Atl is not bad if you still want to get access to the big city

Ima be honest the crime in Atlanta is Isolated to certain places and certain times of day...

Rarely does anybody do anything stupid in broad daylight unless their drugged out or just plain old stupid AF...

I don't hang around Downtown Atlanta past 6PM...

Forest Park,Decatur and East Point can get really rough...

Mcdonough which is close by where I live is pretty good... Occasionally you get some Dumbass who tries to Rob a store but up here the store owners pack heat... so that usually doesn't go the way they want it to...

I might be entering the transfer portal myself, looking to buy a home in one of the northern suburbs. Brookhaven is probably the furthest south I'd go. 🙂

Where are you now?

Before I retired, my former job had me all over Atlanta in the middle of the night at times.  Sometimes I was by myself and sometimes I had a coworker with me.  Most of the time, I wasn't too worried about where I was going but I always had my head on a swivel and was cautious while driving.  I used to go to West End, Grady, 56 Marietta/Five Points, Midtown, and regularly pass through Edgewood Ave and Little Five Points.  Having to park down in the railroad gulch and walk to 56 Marietta was the one I was least fond of.  When the AJC moved out of their building, it got a little iffy in that area.  When they were there, there was always enough activity it didn't bother me much.  When the social unrest/Wendy's burning happened, it was the only time I told my boss and his boss that I wouldn't go without a police escort.  Mostly though, like I said, I was just aware of my surroundings.  Of course there is always the chance for that bolt from the blue that reaches out and bites you but that is true anywhere, anytime.

Depends on what you are looking for and how many $$$ you have.  Some areas are relatively affordable.  It just depends on if you are looking for the burbs, in-town living, or the newer burbs that have developed walkable centers.  Of course, traffic will be a consideration as well.

I rarely have to go up to any shady areas after dark or late in the evening...

Recently I've been covering out in Carrollton,Griffin (Which is Rough... I don't work in Griffin past 5),Lagrange,Peachtree Corners and Fayetteville.

Outside of Griffin none of my usual spots concern me In state...

Now when I have to go to FL... especially Jacksonville... I get in... I get out... I won't even spend a night at a hotel... I make that 2 hour drive to Valdosta and stay at my moms place until the next morning then go back home...

Well, I'll be visiting a good friend who's got a 6-bedroom house in Alpharetta. So, I'll look around that area. She used to live in midtown in a condo, so I know that area as well. Alpharetta seems like the best, but maybe more expensive in a way that doesn't relfect the actual small difference in quality with Roswell, JC etc.

Roswell,JC and Alpharetta  are all nice... but expensive...

Roswell might be SLIGHTLY cheaper...

But the other areas nearby growing up are Woodstock and Cumming...

I have a friend up in Blueridge and another that lives in Jenner .  I was up there probably 7-8 yrs ago . It was dirt, dirt cheap for housing . Not enough up that way back then to entice me to consider moving up that way when I retire or just can't handle California  or Newscom anymore.  However, they both told me that it is growing . Pretty area . You can shoot up into Tenn. or Atlanta pretty quickly. In Cali people don't think nothing of a hour and a half ride as most commute that one way every day . Atlanta has no appeal to me anymore. It lost it's charm some time ago .

I thought you were in California.  With what you will get for your house there, you should have no problem buying whatever you want here.  Even though our prices have gone up over the past decade, we don't come close to matching So Cal prices.  You biggest question will be where you have to go to get to work if you aren't remote or mostly remote and what your tolerance for traffic is.

Blue Ridge I know about but where is Jenner?  I tried to look it up and can't find it.
