RedZone
...in a tournament out West.....saw it on Twitter. This Duncanville team doesn't seem that strong. I believe the team out of San Antonio might be the best team in Texas this year. Baton Rouge Catholic beat Ridge Point, TX in a Texas tournament. Couple of Top 25 Texas teams go down. I don't know about DLS, but Baton Rouge Catholic is pretty good this year.....17-1 now. Probably the favorite in 5A Private hoops.
RedZone
Duncanville at #4, Ridge Point at #15 Class 6A 1. SA Brennan (13-2) 2. Allen (14-1) 3. Shadow Creek (15-1) 4. Duncanville (7-4) 5. Allen (Only loss to Brennan in OT) and North Crowley are pretty pesky this year. Could possibly be DFWs best. The usuals are lurking...including defending champ Plano East. Possible Darkhorse to keep an eye on is Steele despite the schedule being kinda soft.
RedZone
#7 6A Lancaster, TX has a good win over a good Zachary, La team..... Zachary is currently 15-1. I would think one of the favorites in 5A Public. Zachary did beat always tough Dallas Kimball in their Texas tournament trip. Kimball also beat Duncanville this year, go figure. Zachary went 2-1 in the tournament

DLS is undefeated and I believe a Top 10 team in California this year though. Who knew .. Anyways, there's been a zillion basketball tournaments. Champa
Duncanville will probably never be relevant at the nation level again. The UIL made sure of that. They're lucky they didn't get something that's equivalent to the "death penalty" in basketball.

AztecPadre
Same result would have happened on the football field.

Jesuit (NOLA) and St Xavier, OH beat Loyola Blakefield, MD in a Catholic Christmas tournament out East. I think Rockhurst, MO was the best team though in the tournament. They beat Jesuit and St Xavier. Jesuit will go a couple rounds in the 5A Private playoffs. Have a good squad this year (14-2) so far I really don't know how good Loyola Blakefield is, but they are 10-6....... they look fairly competitive on paper https://www.maxpreps.com/md/towson/loyola-blakefield-dons/basketball/schedule/

PC Central will probably make it to the final 4. They have an elite guard. They also have Hoover's old bb coach.

If the score I just look at is correct, Plano East got destroyed by Allen yesterday. 3 hours ago, RedZone said: Duncanville beat Christ the King, New York this morning in the consolation round of that tournament They're still pretty good, but nothing compared to what they used to be. They can't build a team like they had in their glory years. People would have a fit. I forgot what year it was, but they had 4 starters that were 6'8 and the other kid that started was 6'10. You won't see that any more. It's was too obvious they weren't all neighborhood kids.

So will this be the 2018 Allen or will this be like the others and only go 3-4 rounds deep? Stay tuned...
Champa
If I were betting on it, I'd say Allen falters. They've already had some close games this year. Sooner or later you're bound to lose one of those. It'll probably happen in the playoffs. Plano East was very senior heavy last year if I'm remembering correctly. Beating up on them isn't as impressive as it would have been last season.
