Interesting. If it was an invasion, it would probably be like Independence Day. They'd come for our resources, and given their superior tech, they wouldn't have to ask or use tricks.

Signs wasn't really an invasion, was it? If so, it's odd that they'd spend all their time hiding from humans and then get destroyed by water.

I haven't seen No One Will Save You. Is it any good?

Agreed on the resources…

Also that those resources would probably be biologically based

(As rocks/minerals etc are not so scarce in the universe)

agree again

But most people consider it a “trick”

when they are not informed or asked…

It might look like  “invasion of the body snatchers” or “cocoon”

Some old-school movies were more cerebral, exploring man’s struggles with mortality etc…

newer media offerings?

not so much…

🤷‍♂️

I agree, if I understand what you're saying. I think they'd be interested in Earth not only because of the living things that are in fact here but also because it is a place conducive to life. I'd imagine that it would considerably more difficult to harness the resources of our solar system using (say) Jupiter as a FOB than Earth.

I do prefer Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) to Independence Day. That ending hit me hard when I first saw it as kid.
