ORabidOne
On the Football Fridays show last night! There was a round table discussion, as to what should be done to change the format of the GHSA playoffs! Among those recommendations were a point's system, a 32 team ranking to get the best 32 teams available! And LOOOOW and beHOLD, Palmer comes up with the tried and untrue formula of having the four top teams from each region have a region playoff, to see which TWO teams make the sixteen team state playoff! SAY WHAAAAAT? WHERE was he when this was used for twenty years previously? THAT was precisely why few fans had ever heard of Colquitt county before, on a state or national scale! In order to make a splash on a state scale, one had to beat one of the top teams in the country TWICE, just to make the playoffs! And can you imagine just a few years ago! When Valdosta, Northside WR, Warner Robins, Colquitt, Tift, Thomasville, Coffee, Ware Co., and HOCO, were ALL in the same region, with two going to the playoffs? And with HIS team's region having a collection of Savannah area NOBODIES! He proposed TWO teams from each region going to the playoffs? Grab a holt of yourownself there TOMO, and shake some sense into yo body! When we DID go to a FOUR team playoff from each region! Colquitt went on a reign of terror among the unsuspecting around the state! From that time, Colquitt as a three or four seed, made the quarterfinals or better, in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017! And they won the REGION championship FOUR times during that span! I myownself, like the top 32 format from a power rating, FAR better! THEN, we wouldn't have 1-9 Effing fucking ham county making the playoffs, when teams like Tift and Camden sit home with a 5-5 record! While having 7-3 Pebblebrook with the audacity to be a #2 seed in the first round, sending nationally ranked Colquitt on the road! In that region, among others, only ONE team even remotely warrants playoff consideration! In my not so humble opine! Them Falcons will REGRET not FORFEITING next week! HawgGoneIt
I heard Tommy when he said that. Yeah, I don't want to go back to that. What we have now isn't terrible, but there is definitely room for improvement. Mainly on the hosting team stadium size enforcement. by the GHSA. I've read where Fred has posted twice that our AD should speak up or whatever, but I thought that was why the GHSA was there. To enforce their rules and make sure everything is on the up and up. I like you Hog Boy, cause you say some FUNNY ASS SHIT! The GHSA DOING THEIR J O B? Just for shits and giggles, Parkiview has hosted at least two state championships, before the GHSA went to a neutral site! And this was before they increased the size of their visitor's stands awhile back! Their BIIIIIG Orange Jungle Gym accommodated a biscuit less than 4500 when they hosted! And THAT was when the minimum was 8,000! I just went to Walton last evening! And their stadium holds 3900! Hide and watch them host the SEMIS if they get that far! And those stadiums require a MINIMUM of 6,000, with equal seating for both schools!
Nolebull813
This Tommy Palmer guy sounds like he has more common sense in his left butt cheek than Rab has ever experienced in whole life!!!

Tommy knoows almost as much about Georgia high school football as Rab, but he just has a better delivery. Let's say his delivery is less colorful than Rab's. Really knowledgeable guy though. You can call the name of virtually any team in Georgia and he has some story to share about them from back in the day, or yesterday, depending on the most interesting thing to tell. He's chock full of trivia answers also, like the little things that teams do that average fans don't really know about unless their teams have played the ones in question. The Brooks County sledge hammer for instance was a topic of discussion a couple of weeks ago. Pretty decent radio post game show after the Georgia games on Friday nights, where the coaches or other team personalities call in and discuss the night's game. You callin me a WHITEY RACIST? And if Tombo knows SOOOOOO much! Maybe he can tell us why they have four SUCKY high schools in his home county of Bulloch instead of ONE, which is only a little larger county than Colquitt? And HOW would he know ANYTHING about what's going on around the state! When he hasn't been to a REAL football game, since they wore leather helmets! He;s stuck behind that fantasy land camera and microphone of his!
