Former Santa Margarita QB, doing well

Too many times we see examples of kids with potential who screw it up and bounce from school to school without taking advantage of their talent.

Johnny Stanton, the much talked about SoCal QB years ago until he suffered the knee injury his senior year in HS, has made a comeback after a few forks in the road.

He went to Nebraska, where he was way down on the depth chart, and decided to change things up by going to Saddleback JC to get some PT. He's now at UNLV. A special teams player, he blocked a punt earlier this season for the Rebels. And now he is back at QB , leading UNLV past Hawaii this past weekend.

I remember all the talk about Stanton and Santa Margarita on these HS boards years ago, and it's nice to hear the name surface again.

Good stuff Max.  Thanks for sharing.  That knee injury predicated the infamous #stantonrule. related to ranking teams based on futures rather than past performance.
